A Comparative Study Of Two Kinds Of Reconstruction Methods On The Quality Of Life Of Patients With Oral Cancer

Purpose:Oral cancer is one of the most common diseases among the head and neck malignancies.In the past few years,the number of patients with oral cancer is also increasing.With the developing of medical technology,the diagnosis and treatment technology of oral cancer is also advancing.The treatment method can be divided into operation,chemotherapy,radiotherapy and a combined treatment of them.The reconstruction of postoperative defects in oral cancer patients and the quality of life after operation are the main factors to evaluate the effect of the patients.The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical effects of two different repair methods after oral cancer resection,and to evaluate the quality of life and analyze the influencing factors1 year after operation.Experimental MethodsAll of the 39 patients,From March 2015 to March 2017,who under oral cancer surgery were retrospectively analyzed.All patients were diagnosed according to the UICC(Union for International Cancer Control)TNM staging,and were confirmed OSCC throuth the pathological examination.All of the patients got a questionnaire survey by postoperative review or telephone follow-up one year after operation.Quality of life assessment(QOL)was performed on patients with pedicled tissue flap and free flap.Data were analyzed by the SPSS software.All the patients included in the study were excluded from tumor recurrence.There were 24 male patients and 8 female patients.The age of the patients was 35 years old,-79 years old(mean,57.12±11.99,median,56).Through communicating with all of the patients included in the experimental study,they understood the purpose and methods of our research,and signed written informed consent.The general clinical data of the patients were collected from the hospital.ResultThere was no significant difference between the patients with submental island flap and the free flap by microvascular anastomosis in the overall quality of life of the 32 patients after the oral cancer surgery(P > 0.05).ConclusionsOral tumor resection by flap repair can improve the life quality of patients,swallowing,speech,rejection,appearance of oral cancer patients after surgery is the main consideration,which should be aimed at these factors on postoperative patients with special counseling.
