| Objective:To study the relationship between body mass index, waist circumference, lipid metabolism, leptin levels and thyroid nodules, and the relationship between leptin and obesity and lipid metabolism were studied.Methods:Eighty-two patients with nodular thyroid(29 males and 53 females)and 84non-thyroid nodules(30 males and 54 females)were selected. The basic information and blood samples of the subjects were collected and the body weights of the two groups were measured.Measured height, weight, waist circumference, fasting blood glucose, triglycerides stimulating hormone, cholesterol, thyrotropin and leptin levels in both groups.Results:1.Comparison of physical examination indexes: nodular thyroid group age(t=3.655P<0.01),BMI(t=-9.106 P<0.001)(t=-9.106 P<0.001),waist circumference(t=2.12,P=0.035)higher than normal group.2.The levels of leptin(t=-2.140 P=0.034),triglycerides(t=2.008 P=0.046),and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(t=-2.594 P=0.010)were higher in the thyroid nodule group than in the normal group. The nodule group had lower HDL cholesterol than the normal group(t=2.278 P=0.024).There was no significant difference in fasting blood glucose, cholesterol, and TSH between the thyroid nodule group and the control group(Table 2).3.Age(P=0.036 0R=1.020),BMI(P<0.001 OR=2.536),Waist circumference(P= 0.011 OR=1.056),Leptin(P=0.020 OR=1.472)are independent risk of thyroidnodules factor.4.Leptin was associated with serum triglyceride(r=0.160,p=0.039)and cholesterol(r=0.175,p=0.024)levels.Conclusion:1.The body mass index(BMI),waist circumference, triglyceride, and leptin levels of patients with thyroid nodules were higher than those in the normal group.Obesity and abnormal lipid metabolism may be related to the pathogenesis of thyroid nodules.2.Age,BMI,waist circumference, and leptin are independent risk factors for the occurrence of thyroid nodules. The older the age,the higher BMI,the greater the waist circumference, and the higher the leptin level, the greater the susceptibility to thyroid nodules.3.Leptin levels are related to serum triglycerides and cholesterol levels, the higher the age, serum triglycerides and cholesterol levels, the higher the leptin levels. |
