Objective: To explore the influence of social culture pressure and facial dissatisfaction factors on the choice of orthognathic surgery to patients with maxillofacial deformities by establishing models,guide patients to establish more practical treatment motivation,and improve treatment coordination and satisfaction.Methods: This study set up orthognathic group and control group,The orthognathic group included 137 cases of orthognathic patients with orthognathic malformation who ought to take orthognathic orthodontic treatment in the outpatient department of orthognathic surgery of a oral hospital.The cases of control group came from a university.SPSS 24 software was used to analyze the data with hierarchical regression analysis.Results: The choice of orthognathic surgery in the patients with tooth and maxillofacial malformation could be predicted by the social cultural factors and the dissatisfaction of appearance.Conclusion: The social cultural factors and the dissatisfaction of appearance of patients with maxillofacial deformities were plays an important role in the process of selecting the treatment.In clinical practice,social and psychological factors should be considered when making a reasonable guide for patients who has a desire of taking orthognathic operation,helping patients establish correct aesthetic concepts,recover the physiological function,facial appearance and appearance cognition.
