Objective: To investigate the changes of the height and compression rate of thoracic and lumbar fractures after manual reduction, and to analyze the effect of manual reduction on screw fracture. Methods: We collected 29 cases of thoracolumbar fractures treated in our department from October 2016 to October 2017.There were 11 females and18 males, aged 41.79±10.60 years old.Manipulation before reset is group A,after reset is group B;manual and radiographs are collected before and after reduction, and the height of anterior, middle and posterior edges of the injured vertebrae is measured according to radiographs;and the theoretical heights of the anterior, middle and posterior vertebrae are measured. The calculations show that the numerical values are normalized and the front, middle and rear edge compression ratios are obtained.A paired t-test was performed on the A and B data.According to the compression rate change classification, the compression rate change ≥10% is excellent,5%~10% is good, and ≤5% is bad. Results: Statistical analysis showed that the corresponding compression ratios of A and B groups were P<0.05,which was considered statistically significant. The leading edge compression rate was excellent in 11 cases, and good group was 10 cases. The excellent and good rate was 72.41%.The central compression rate was excellent in 8 cases, good group in 8 cases, excellent rate of 55.17%,and the posterior compression rate changed in 2cases.There were 5 patients in the good group, with an excellent rate of24.14%.For group B,manipulative reduction can restore the height of the vertebral injury, and the rate of recovery of the leading edge compression rate is the highest. In 2 cases of Denis burst type A fracture, the compression rate of the vertebral injury was increased after manual compression and reduction, and the best rate was Denis.Compression type B fracture. Conclusion: Manipulative reduction plays an important role in restoring the height of the injured vertebrae, and reduces the compression rate of the injured vertebra. To a certain extent,it reduces the stress on the screws and avoids the fracture of the screws.
