Clinical Research Of Catgut-point Embedding Therapy Of Periodic Sequential For Treating Primary Dysmenorrheal Qi Stagnation And Blood Stasis

Objective: This study compared with observing the effects of catgut-point embedding therapy and Ibuprofen sustained release capsule,on the treatment of primary dysmenorrheal(qi stagnation and blood stasis).The aim of our study was to explore the clinical effects,evaluate the clinical curative effect of catgut-point embedding therapy of periodic sequential and security.Method: The study collected seventy-four cases which have been diagnosed of primary dysmenorrheal(qi stagnation and blood stasis)according to the inclusion criteria,and then randomly assigned them to two groups,named catgut-point embedding group and control group.The patients of catgut-point embedding were treated with catgut-point embedding therapy of periodic sequential.The embedding therapy was applied three times during the menstrual cycle,once in postmenstrual period,another in intermenstural period,still another in premenstrual period.The patients of control group were treated with oral ibuprofen,0.3g each time,twice a day,starting at the onset of menstrual cramps until 3days or till the pain was relieved.The treatment of one menstrual cycle was one treatment course,the continuous treatment of three menstrual cycles was required in both two groups.The severity of dysmenorrheal would be evaluated and recorded in the end of every course of menstrual cycle,by filling out the dysmenorrheal score,the score of Visual Analog Scales,and quantification score of TCM syndrome.The short-term and long-term curative effect were evaluated at the end of the third cycle and in 3months after the treatment period respectively.Results:1.After the treatment of three menstrual cycles,the dysmenorrheal score,the score of Visual Analog Scales,and quantification score of TCM syndrome between two groups were both improved,there was a significant difference(P<0.05).The follow-up was done in three months after three treatment courses.Compared with three treatment courses,the dysmenorrheal score,the score of Visual Analog Scales,and quantification score of TCM syndrome in the control group increased,there was a significant difference(P<0.05).But in the catgut-point embedding group there was no difference(P>0.05).2.Clinical curative efficacies comparison: After the treatment of three menstrual cycles,as to the short-term efficacies in catgut implantation at acupoint group,total effective rate was 91.4%.In the control group,total effective rate was 71.4%,there was a significantdifference between two groups(P<0.05).Thus clinical short-term effects of the catgut-point embedding group were better than those of the control group.The follow-up was in three months after three treatment courses,as to the long-term efficacies in catgut-point embedding group,total effective rate was 94.3%.In the control group,total effective rate was 71.4%,there was a significant difference between two groups(P<0.05).Thus clinical long-term effects of the catgut-point embedding group were better than those of the control group.3.Clinical curative efficacies comparison:After the treatment of three menstrual cycles,respective effect on PD qi stagnation and blood stasis in catgut-point embedding group,total effective rate was 97.1%.In the control group,total effective rate was 74.3%,there was a significant difference between two groups(P<0.05).The clinical short-term effects of the catgut-point embedding group were better than those of the control group.The follow-up was in three months after three treatment courses,respective effect on PD qi stagnation and blood stasis in catgut implantation at catgut-point embedding group,total effective rate was94.3%.In the control group,total effective rate was 11.4%,there was a significant difference between two groups(P<0.05).The clinical long-term effects of the catgut-point embedding group were better than those of the control group.Conclusions:The catgut-point embedding therapy of periodic sequential have obvious short-term and long-term curative effects,can relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrheal symptomaticly,and effective for TCM syndrome types of PD qi stagnation and blood stasis.It greatly reduces the frequency of treatment and the time of each treatment,furthermore its effect is permanent and steady,and make long-term effects stable and difficult to recur,and guarantees the compliance of patients.
