| Objective: To investigate the ocular surface functional status of dry eye patients and to compare the differences in ocular surface function between no MGD Dry-eye patients,MGD Dry-eye patients and normal subjects, and to analyze the correlation between tear-film lipid layer thickness(LLT),meibomian gland loss rate(MGLR)and others ocular surface indicators, evaluate the value of LLT and MGLR in diagnosis of dry eye. Methods: According to the corresponding exclusion and inclusion criteria, the subjects were divided into three groups no MGD Dry-eye group,MGD Dry-eye group, and normal group. Each group had 20 subjects. The right eye was selected as the test eye.The collection of experimental data was performed by the same physician. The following steps were performed in order to complete the relevant tests:(1).History and OSDI questionnaires;(2)Slit lamp eye and caries;(3).LLT and incomplete blink(PBR)detection;(4).Tearing time(TBUT)Measurements;(5)Corneal fluorescein staining, and evaluate the score of corneal fluorescein staining;(6).Schirmer test;(7).Melanoma gland photography and use Image J mapping software to complete the MGLR calculations. The collected data were statistically analyzed using SPSS22.0 statistical software.Result:Differential test: There was no statistical difference between age, sex,BT and PBR in the three groups.OSDI score, corneal fluorescence staining score:no MGD Dry-eye group and MGD Dry-eye group was significantly higher than the normal group, but there was no statistical difference between no MGD Dry-eye group and MGD Dry-eye group.TUBT,tear secretion test: no MGD Dry-eye group and MGD Dry-eye group was significantly lower than the normal group, but there was no statistical difference between no MGD Dry-eye group and MGD Dry-eye group.LLT: The LLT in no MGD Dry-eye group was the lowest, and there was a statistically significant difference between no MGD Dry-eye group and normal group. There was no significant difference in LLT between MGD Dry-eye group and normal group. The upper MGLR and lower MGLR:MGD Dry-eye group had the highest upper MGLR and lower MGLR,and there was a statistically significant difference between no MGD Dry-eye group and normal group. There was no statistical difference between no MGD Dry-eye group and normal group. There was no statistical difference between the upper MGLR and the lower MGLR in each group.Correlation analysis: In normal group,LLT was negatively correlated with OSDI score, and positively correlated with TBUT;in MGD Dry-eye group: LLT was positively correlated with incomplete blinking, and inferior MGLR was positively correlated with corneal fluorescence staining score, and inferior MGLR was negatively correlated with TBUT.There was no statistically significant correlation between other indicators. Conclusion: OSDI scores, corneal fluorescence staining,TBUT,and tear secretion in dry eye patients are significantly different from those in the normal population. These indicators have important value in the diagnosis of dry eye. That is,in dry eye patients without MGD,their meibomian gland function has begun to change, and there is a certain correlation between LLT,MGLR and other ocular surface indicators,so LLT and MGLR have a certain value in the diagnosis of dry eye,but should combine with other ocular surface indicators. |
