From Herbal God To Pharmacy Merchants:A Study On The Culture Of Medicinal Capital In Anguo,Hebei Province

Traditional Chinese medicine and temple fairs are two kinds of affairs with Chinese characteristics.They were also indispensable to the traditional Chinese social life.Anguo was a small city that brought these two cultures together,also known as the "medicinal capital." Relying on the belief of the King of Medicine and derived from the development of the pharmaceutical industry,experienced a thousand years of development.Since modern times,China has entered the orbit of dramatic change,and the traditional Chinese medicine industry and culture of Anguo also have different changes in each stage.In the phenomena of God and man,culture and economy,tradition and modernity,this paper explores the challenges to the traditional Chinese medicine industry and culture.This paper,from the perspective of ethnology,through the way of field investigation,takes "medicine man" as the main line.In 2002,Anguo Dudu was studied as a case study,and the culture of Dudu was discussed.Yadu Anguo is famous for a temple of the king of medicine and its pharmaceutical industry.The temple of the medicine king of Anguo has spiritual comfort function,cultural entertainment function and commercial trade function,forming people’s worship of the medicine king and the trade of medicinal herbs.The flourishing of the trade in medicinal materials also led to the cultivation and processing of medicinal materials.Anguo City,relying on its own advantages,formed the "medicinal capital" of "one night of autumn wind,10 li of medicine fragrance",and became the center of distribution and exchange of traditional Chinese medicinal materials.Here,the legend of the King of Medicine,the belief of the King of Medicine,the Temple of the King of Medicine,the Chinese medicine industry constitutes a cycle of revelation to people.The Development and Evolution of Anguo Pharmaceutical Industry.But under the background of "change",modern China is confronted with the conflict between tradition and modernity,and Anguo is no exception.This paper finds that the traditional Chinese medicine industry and culture are influenced by the western standardization,people’s life,behavior and business habits are also changed,and the challenges and impacts are worth pondering.
