| Objective: Based on Baidu search index,we analyzed the big data on the prevalence of ectopic pregnancy(EP).Methods: In the first hospital affiliated of Soochow University,a retrospective analysis was conducted for all discharged patients diagnosed as EP between January 2014 and December 2017,including tubal pregnancy,cornual pregnancy,cervical pregnancy,abdominal pregnancy,ovarian pregnancy and post-cesarean scar pregnancy patients.The terms of "ectopic pregnancy","extrauterine pregnancy" and "tubal pregnancy" were chosen as Chinese keywords,the time series covered the last 4 years(January 2014 to December 2014),the city of Suzhou was located,the search data recorded by Baidu index were studied,using SPSS 22.0 software.We explored the seasonal variation of EP,and analyzed the correlation between the Baidu search index and the actual morbidity.Results: 1.A total of 1450 patients was diagnosed as EP and received hospital treatment between the year of 2014 and 2017,the tubal pregnancy cases account for 81.79%(1186/1450);2.Total cases of the right side of tubal pregnancy were slightly higher than the cases of left side(623 versus 563,52.45% versus 47.47%),but there was no statistical difference;3.Of all the tubal pregnancy cases,79.09%(938/1186)was cured by surgical treatment;of all surgical treated cases,about 4.26%(40/938)was observed with contralateral corpus luteum,which indicated this side of ovulation;4.Of all the high risk factors for EP,the highest proportion was the abortion history(65.58%,951/1278);secondly,the cesarean section history accounting for 16.76%(252/1278);additionally,about 22.28% patients did not have high-risk factors for EP;5.Of all the EP cases,the post-cesarean scar pregnancy cases accounting for 11.86%(172/1450);62.79%(108/172)was cured by bilateral uterine artery embolization combined with dilatation and curettage(D&C);20.93%(36/172)was cured by laparoscopic bilateral uterine artery block operation combined with dilatation and curettage;only 4%(6/172)was cured by transvaginal resection of cesarean scar pregnancy(6/172),together with D&C;6.The mean age of 1450 EP cases was 30.27±5.55 years old,the minimum age was 16 years old and the maximum age was 48 years old,the peak age of the illness onset was 21 to 30 years old(54%,783/1450);7.The rate of occurrence of EP showed a seasonal tendency,with peak values in the hot summer months(from May to Sep.,38.62%,560/1450),nadir coincident with the cold winter months(from January to Feb.,Nov.to Dec.,28.76%,417/1450);8.The Baidu search index for EP showed a seasonal variation;the search index is highest in hot summer climate;9.There was no obvious correlation between the Baidu search index trend of the EP and its actual morbidity;10.The highest search demand for EP related information was "the early symptoms of ectopic pregnancy";the highest age proportion of searchers was 30~39 years(56%);men also pay attention to ectopic pregnancy,and female searchers accounted for 35%.Conclusions: 1.In clinic,those with high-risk factors for EP should be instructed to get conception in the cold winter in order to reduce the occurrence of EP,rather than in the hot summer,which has the highest occurrence rate of EP.2.Using of the Baidu search index to monitor the ectopic pregnancy epidemic trend is not feasible.Baidu is the leader in domestic search engines.This part used the Baidu Index as a reference tool,combined with Micro-index and We Chat Index,to analyze the attention variation of the general public on "ectopic pregnancy"(EP).The results showed that the public's attention on EP demonstrated a seasonal tendency: in the hot months of May,June,July and August,netizens showed a high level of attention on EP;in the cold months of November,December and January,netizens' attention on EP demonstrated a low level;besides,in the month after Valentine's Day,that is,in March,there was also a peak degree of attention on EP.Of the three search engines,Baidu Index is the most widely used,and Baidu Index provides the longest available data,and it reflects the most obvious seasonal variation of netizens' attention on EP.We Chat Index is an emerging mobile index,but its usage rate is only second to Baidu Index.In the near 90 days,the search trend of "ectopic pregnancy" reflected by We Chat Index was coincident with Baidu Index(r=0.594,P < 0.01);Compared with Baidu Index and We Chat Index,the search index of "ectopic pregnancy" recorded by Micro-index was smaller,but its overall trend was still consistent with the trend of Baidu Index(r=0.646,P < 0.05).Baidu Index platform can be used as a reliable tool to explore the needs of Internet users for EP;We Chat Index and Micro-index could be an effective complement to Baidu Index,and this three search engines could be an efficient tool to monitor Internet users' concern need for EP.In the hot months of May,June,July and August and the next month of Valentine's Day,the demand of Internet users for the information related to "ectopic pregnancy" was rising.Relevant websites and We Chat official account can cater to this tendency of the Internet users' needs,and launch popular science articles on "ectopic pregnancy".Internet users can get information related to "ectopic pregnancy" more efficient,and achieve early prevention,early identification,early treatment of "ectopic pregnancy". |
