The Research Of The Status Of Feeling Of ICU Patients

ObjectiveTo understand the condition of the feelings of ICU patients' that use physical restraint,and explore the individual characteristics,the nursing measures that about physical restraint how influence of the feelings.Then through the questionnaire survey to the ICU patients with body restraint,The aim is to provide evidence to reduce the body restrainted rate,standardize the body restraint behavior,and provide the basis for the medical staff to develop the body restraint evaluation tool,so as to improve the safety of patients.MehtodsThis study used qualitative interview and questionnaire survey.Forming a database and preparing a questionnaire: The feelings of ICU patients who were restrainted The patients who were from the standard in surgical ICU,internal medicine ICU,respiratory ICU,emergency ICU and comprehensive ICU in Kaifeng hospital were investigated.The data was inputted by Epidata3.0 to establish and SPSS17.0 was applied to conduct the statistical analysis,and statistical analysis was carried out using statistical description,reliability analysis,validity analysis and card-square test.Qualitative research: Using phenomenological research methods,a semi-structured interview was conducted between September 2016 and October 2016 for patients admitted to the emergency intensive care unit,surgical intensive care unit and intensive care unit for the use of body restraints,the main content are the feeling of body restraint,how do you do when the constraint was done,how to treat the behavior,and their suggestions.Using the objective sampling to select the research objects.Data collection and analysis are carried out at the same time,with the analysis of current data to guide the next interview until the coding and category reach saturation.9 patients were interviewed.And the data was analyzed by Colaizzi seven step analysis.ResultsIn this study,the main way of physical restraint of ICU patients were wrist-cotton type,The restrained parts were mainly wrist and ankle.More restrained patients will feel numbness,limb,less patients will feel pain and tightness of the inappropriate From the psychological feeling aspect,more patients feel they are not to be respected and the fear,the less patient appears the grievance and the anger mood,the family visitation also helps to eliminate bad experience because of the body restraint.More restrained patients may have sleeping obstacles.When more patients are restrained,they refuse to use the constraint band,and try to release the restraint band,and more irritable behaviors,but hey want to do something themselves in the process of constraint.The results of univariate analysis showed that gender,age and education level were the factors that affect the restrainted patients' sensation(p<0.05).Constraint time,constraint position and constraint mode were all the factors that affect the patients' feeling(p<0.05).Nursing measures on body restraints such as whether or not to use two times lining,the time of release,whether to place grasping items,the placement of limbs,and whether to carry out the detailed restraint the mission are the influence factors of the feeling of restraint(p<0.05).The risk of falling bed and catheter slipping are the influencing factors of the patients ' physical restraint feeling(p<0.05).The attitude of patient's and whether understanding of body restraint are the influencing factors(p<0.05).The patients in ICU will have the feeling of discomfort such as numbness and positive and negative emotion,and mistaken understanding of nurses during the period of body restraint.Besides that some related suggestions are proposed by the patients.ConclusionsThrough this study,the following conclusions are drawn:1.The factors that affect patients' feeling are gender,age,understanding of the disease,understanding of body restraint,whether to use two times of lining,the part of restraint,the way of restraint,release opportunity.and so on.2.Constrainted patients will have negative emotions,they hope that nurses will encourage them.3.The mode of constraint needs improvement to improve the quality of body restraint.
