Effect Of Several Turf Fertilizers On Creeping Bentgrass

In this paper,several fertilizers including three kinds of turf fertilizers and one kind of widely used agricultural compound fertilizer were tested for the growth of creeping bentgrass.The study investigated the effect of those fertilizers to the turf quality including color,density,texture,uniformity,to the ground biomass and underground biomass,to the tissue nutrient including nitrogen content,phosphorus content,potassium content,to the soil nutrient including total nitrogen content,alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen content,available phosphorus content,available potassium content,The results are showed as follows:1.The nitrogen of agricultural compound fertilizer release quickly in a short period.It could cause nitrogen loss.The turf fertilizers release nitrogen slowly,and "BEST" turf fertilizer takes a better efficiency for a long time.Therefore it is better to use other turf fertilizer on creeping bentgrass.2.The organic mass of "BEST" turf fertilizer is the highest in those fertilizers,maybe it's another reason why the fertilizer is efficiency for a long time.3.Although the soil pH increase slightly,it's almost no effect to the growth of bentgrass after fertilizing.In pot experimental conditions,it is likely to cause leaching losses of phosphorus.4."BEST" and "Leili" turf fertilizers can promote the growth of grass roots,increase ground biomass and underground biomass.5.The results showed that the "BEST" fertilizer can be effectively improve the appearance quality of turfgrass especially in density and uniformity."Leili" and "Longer" turf fertilizers is also well on turfgrass quality of the appearance,"Leili" turf fertilizer is better in density and"Longer" turf fertilizer is better in uniformity.6.Almost all fertilizers' nutrient content are shortage,especially phosphorus and potassium elements.Overall,the fertilizer of most abundant element content is "Leili" turf fertilizer,followed "BEST" turf fertilizer.The content of agricultural compound fertilizer is not enough obviously,almost no phosphorus and potassium elements.
