Turf Grass Introduction And Evaluation Of Turf Establishment In The Centeral-west Area Of Inner Mongolia

Through evaluation on turf grass adaptbility and turf establishment quality of the four varieties of Kentucky bluegrass and three varieties of Creeping bentgrass in central-west Area of Inner Mengolia, the paper expounded each adaptive performances of the tested cultivars in local area, systematically evaluated the comprehensive turf quality and each divisional goals quality of the tested cultivars, and assessed the quality performance of tested cultivars for different type of lawns. The results are as foloows:1. The experiment selected seven evaluation indexes of density, coverage, green period, incidence of weeds, heat resistance, cold hardiness and disease resistance in order to study the adaptability of the seven tested varieties. The results indicated that the cv."Empire"of Kentucky bluegrass varieties showed better adaptability to the local environment which should be used as the local constructing ornamental grass species. The cv"Putter"of creeping bentgrass showed better adaptability than the other two varieties,. It was preferred on exercise type turf especially the Golf lawn.2. The experiment applied the comprehensive lawn quality evaluation system of"the appearance quality - ecological quality - usage quality"to evaluate turf quality of the seven introduced varieties of Kentucky bluegrass and creeping bentgrass in the central and western area of Inner Mongolia. The results showed that the cv"Empire"of Kentucky bluegrass and the cv"PennA-4"of creeping bentgrass were higher than other varieties in the comprehensive quality evaluation. In the evaluation of each goal quality's appraisal, the appearance quality of cv"PennA-4"was the highest, the ecological quality of cv"Empire"was highest, and the usage quality cv"putter"was the highest. In comprehensive quality appraisal of the lawn type, the cv"Penna A-4"won the highest level of quality rating in ornamental lawn, the cv"Empire"won the highest level of quality rating in amusement lawn, the cv"Empire"won the highest level of quality rating in exercise type turf . The comprehensive lawn quality evaluation system which was applied by the study was not only appraisal well lawn comprehensive turf quality but was able to make the science appraisal with each goal quality of comprehensive turf quality. Furthermore, the comprehensive lawn quality evaluation system can also be possible to make further appraisal according to the different weights of appraisal indexes in different type lawn.
