The dormancy mechanism and germination characteristics of Amelanchier sinica seeds,and biological characteristics of Amelanchier sinica in introducing region were studied by germination test,phenological observation,evaluation of ornamental and fitness,in order to find out the best treatments of the seeds,to provide a theoretical basis for the sexual reproduction and artificial breeding of Amelanchier sinica,to provide material support for its further garden applications and fruit development.The main results are as follows:1.The water absorption performance of Amelanchier sinica was good,and the water absorption rate was accelerated with the increase of temperature,and the final water absorption rate was between 55% and 69%,with no physical dormancy characteristic.2.Amelanchier sinica seeds have deep physiological dormancy,and GA3 pretreatment does not significantly improve their seed germination rate.The seed can be released from dormancy only after at least 3 months of low temperature sand accumulation.GA3 concentration of 50 mg ? L-1 is the best concentration of Amelanchier sinica seed treatment,800 mg ? L-1 inhibit Amelanchier sinica seed germination;3.Seeds contain water-soluble and fat-soluble germination inhibitors,and have chemical dormancy properties.After the seeds are harvested,they can be dried and stored.The next year,the physiological dormancy can be relieved by low-temperature sand storage,and the selection of external GA3 with appropriate concentration can shorten the time of the process.4.Amelanchier sinica introduced in three places are able to adapt well to the growing environment in the region,normal growth and development,and good growth.The investigation found that T.quinquefolia had strong heat resistance and cold resistance,both of which were Class I.However,the ability to resist diseases and insect pests was different in different provenances.The resistance to pests and diseases of Zhouzhi and Guanshan was strong,being Grade I,and that of Taochuan was Grade II.However,the three kinds of provenances have higher scores for ornamental evaluation.It can be seen that Amelanchier sinica is excellent variety with high ornamental value and is suitable for introduction and cultivation in the region.
