Research Of Hand Rehabilitation Assistive Product Design Based On Gerontechnology

A hand is one of the most important locomotive organs of mankind.Particularly,hands of the elderly not only are easy to get hurt,but also have a problem of anaplasia,thus they fail to complete most of exquisite and complicated actions in daily life.This even seriously affect their health and self-esteem.Under the background of aging population,hand rehabilitation assistive products are increasingly important to reinforce hand functions of the elderly.The assistive product industry is constantly developing,but rehabilitation assistive products still belong to the starting stage with the rapid development of aging population in China.Existing hand rehabilitation assistive products can't fully satisfy diversified rehabilitation demands of the elderly.Moreover,with the development of science and technology,design facing to the elderly should follow the era to realize progressive improvement by advancing with the times.On the theoretical basis of gerontechnology,the author conducts the in-depth study and discussion on hand rehabilitation assistive product.Firstly,the author focuses on the gerontechnology to do status research and design comprehension,elaborates definition,origin,development and main contents of gerontechnology,applies this philosophy to product design,and summarizes the product design process based on the gerontechnology,finding out the design opportunity and research direction of hand rehabilitation assistive products.Besides,the author conducts the comprehensive analysis for design objects of this research project from three aspects of physiology,mentality and rehabilitation function features by aiming at status research of users and products.Also,the author studies and analyzes the development tendency by sorting out domestic and overseas hand rehabilitation assistive products,and provides a reference for the subsequent practice process.By exploring user demands and combining the user-centered design philosophy with user participation philosophy of gerontechnology,the author uses the observational method and interview method to deeply understand and summarize users' rehabilitation training demands and rehabilitation assistive product demands based on user behavior focus and product focus.At last,guided by gerontechnology,the author proposes the targeted design principle in accordance with the design development tendency and user demands.Likert scale and four-quadrant analysis method are used to confirm the demand priority and complete the design positioning.The above-mentioned tendency,demands and principles are used to finally draw a design plan.The innovation points of this thesis are stated as follows: firstly,guided by gerontechnology,the author conducts the in-depth exploration on feasibility and scientificity of old people's hand rehabilitation assistive product study.Secondly,the author improves imperfection of existing hand rehabilitation assistive product study for the elderly and reveals products' sense of technology,contemporaneity and humanistic care through design.Finally,the author helps the elderly to conduct rehabilitation training positively and happily and to recover or maintain hand functions,so as to successfully complete daily activities,positively participate in social life,and gain physiological rehabilitation and mental happiness.
