Mechanical seal has been proved to be an effective way to solve many leakage phenomena in the rotary-shaft seal.Its service life and reliability have a direct impact on the safety and stability of the whole equipment.At present,one of the main development directions of mechanical seal is to control the leakage volume in the allowable range,improve the service life of mechanical seal and reduce friction and wear between seal faces.Many research works indicate that fabricating appropriate surface texture on the mating surface has a positive effect on the tribological properties.Researches on surface texture mainly focus on its tribological properties.But relevant leakage variation caused by surface texture has rarely been studied,and the related researches mainly use the finite element method for numerical calculation and analysis.Therefore,it is practical to design and process reasonable surface texture on the mechanical seal face,and study the effect of surface texture on the tribological and sealing performances of mechanical seal.In this paper,the effects of the partial texture parameters like processing position,depth and diameter on mechanical seal were mainly studied.In addition,a type of composite texture was formed by combining two partial textures with different depths of micro-dimples on the inner and outer rings,and a preliminary experiment was carried out.The main contents of the full text are as follows:1.In order to make the surface quality reach the technical requirement,the grinding and polishing processes of the seal faces were explored.Micro-dimples were processed on the sealing face of rotational specimen by photolithography and micro electrochemical machining technology.2.The properties of the partial texture were studied by the method of controlling the variable.The experimental results showed that the inner partial texture could produce better antifriction effect,while the outer partial texture could produce better sealing performance.For the inner partial texture,the smaller the depth of the micro-dimple was,the better frictional reduction effect and the worse sealing performance were showed.But the effect of depth on the outer partial texture was opposite.The diameter of micro-dimple had a certain effect on the performance of the inner partial texture.And there was an optimal value,which made the frictional reduction effect perform the best.But the diameter of micro-dimple had little effect on the outer partial texture.3.A composite texture was formed by combining different depths of inner and outer partial texture,and it was contrasted with full texture and partial texture.The preliminary results showed that only by reasonably arranging the combination of the inner and outer texture depth could the better performance be obtained.The opposite combination of the inner and outer texture depth could lead to the opposite effect of antifriction.In the case of low rotational speed,this composite texture could show a good antifriction effect in the range of specified leakage rate.
