N-vinyl formamide was the isomer of acrylamide which has the advantage of low toxicity and high homo polymerization activity.Its homopolymerization and copolymerization products were widely used in industrial production.In this paper,a new synthesis route of NVF was studied.Firstly,N-a-hydroxyethyl formamide was synthesized by formamide and purified acetaldehyde with basic catalyst by solvent free.Single factor experiments were used to research the effects of reaction temperature,reaction time,ratio of raw materials and the dosage of catalyst.The product was characterized by FT-IR.Orthogonal experimental design L9?34?was used to study the effect of single factors to the productivity of HEF.The molar ratio of acetaldehyde to formamide was 1.2:1,the reaction time was 70 min,the reaction temperature was 45?,the amount of catalyst K2CO3 was 0.6%,and the yield was 60.4%.Secondly,SMA was polymerized from ST and MA by solution polymerization which used acetone as solvent and BPO as Initiator.Orthogonal experimental design L9?34?was used to study the effect of single factors which were reactant dosage,Reaction time,reaction temperature and initiator dosage to the productivity of SMA.m?ST?:m?MA?was 1:1.2,the reaction temperature was 55?,the amount of initiator was 0.66%,the reaction time was 4 hours,and the yield was 98.11%.The viscosity coefficient was measured by Ubbelohde viscosity agent,and the average molecular weight was 1825g/mol.SMA was characterized by FTIR and 1H NMR.Thirdly,the reaction of Polystyrene maleic anhydride eater was discussed by doing the single factor experiment.The influence of reactant dosage,reaction time,reaction temperature and catalyst selection on product yields were examined.The maximum yield was 81%under the following conditions,24.9g of SMA with molecular weight of 1825g/mol and 6.6g of N-a-hydroxyethyl formamide,reaction time of 14h,reaction temperature of 70?,catalyst of concentrated sulfuric acid,solvent of 1,4 dioxane.Polystyrene maleic anhydride eater was characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR.Finally,the reaction of NVF was studied by influence of reaction temperature,reaction time,vacuum degree of reaction system and rotation rate of rotary evaporator on product yield.And the optimal reaction conditions were determined by response surface methodology?RSM?:The reaction temperature of 180?,reaction time of 5h,vacuum degree of-0.09 Mpa,and rotation rate of the rotary evaporator of 80rad/min.NVF was characterized by FTIR,1HNMR and 13CNMR.The purity of NVF was 86.7%.
