Glyphosate is a broad spectrum,high effective,low toxicity,environmentally friendly,systemic non-selective herbicide,which is one of the biggest pesticides in sales and production volum in the world.Because the solubility of glyphosate in water is very low(1.2g per 100 g water at 20?)in agriculture application,glyphosate is usually processed into water-soluble salts.The authorities' tests display that glyphosate potassium salt has the highest biological activity in all of the glyphosate soluble salts.At present,in all of the glyphosate potassium formulation products,only the aqueous concentrations have achieved the mass production and sale,however the patents are controled by two Multi-National Corporation,Monsanto and Syngenta,which is very unfavorable for the domestic glyphosate industry development.The research of preparation solid glyphosate potassium salt in the global is still popular,at the same time,it has great reserch value to prepare the formulation products of the glyphosate potassim salt,such as SP and SG.In this paper,the synthesis of glyphosate potassium salt by using glyphosate and potassium hydroxide was studied.The process had many advantages such as simple and safe,high yield,high purity,environmentally friendly,and no wastes.According to the physical properties of glyphosate potassium salt and the synthesis process of other solid glyphosate salt TC,we screened out a suitable synthetic process.Through selection of the reaction system and the procedure,the glyphosate acid and potassium hydroxide reacted in aqueous system with two steps of acid-base neutralization reaction.At the same time,through control the ration of the raw materials and crystallization conditions of operation,the reaction product glyphosate potassium was separated from the material system,after filtering to obtain the glyphosate potassium salt wet cake,and after drying to obtain the final product.The average yield of glyphosate potassium salt achived 82.3%,overall yield achived 93.5%.The structure of glyphosate potassium TC solid product was tested by IR,1H NMR,and its content was determined by using HPLC.On the basis of glyphosate potassium salt TC,the glyphosate potassium salt formulation such as SP and SG were developed,and compared efficacy with glyphosate potassium AS and glyphosate-isopropylammonium AS at the same active ingredient content,63% glyphosate potassium salt soluble granule had good control effect in Leymus secalinus Tzvel,Sonchus brachyotus D C,Salsola collina Pall and Cephalanoplos segetum,the strain control effect and ration of fresh body weeding reached 96%,it was better than the contrast agent 41% glyphosate isopropylamine AS and 35% glyphosate potassium AS,which was proved that the SG formulation products had better efficacy than AS formulation products.
