With the deeper construction of the “One Belt and One Road”,the ecological environment of the Tarim River is increasingly close to the economic and social development of the Southern Xinjiang.It is necessary to find a way to manage and analysis spatial data of the middle reaches of the Tarim River so that can monitor the vegetation growth status and get the growth trend of the vegetation,to provide a scientific and reliable gist for the enactment of the ecological conservation policy and vegetation protection in the middle reaches of the Tarim River.This thesis describ the empolder technology of geographic information system,take the middle reaches of the Tarim River as research area,adopt the Geodatabase model,used geographic information system to analysis spatial data and attribute data in the middle reaches of the Tarim River,selected the normalized difference vegetation index and vegetation coverage in four periods as the basis research data which was calculated through the ENVI.Then,designed a vegetation index spatial database system to accomplish the integration and management of spatial data and attribute data based in the middle reaches of the Tarim River,which can also reflects the changes of vegetation growth and distribution directly in the study area.The results of this research as follows:(1)This thesis designed a vegetation index spatial database by using Geodatabase space data model.(2)This thesis selected different periods satellite remote sensing images to get the NDVI images and vegetation coverage as the basic data which was calculated through the band math and dimidiate pixel model.(3)This thesis ranked and divided the each period vegetation coverage by colors to get the images.The results show that the average value of NDVI and vegetation cover was obviously changed in the past fifteen years.The high vegetation coverage level was changed into the low level which was basically same with the result of field inspection.Besides,different levels of vegetation coverage showed large spatial distribution characteristics on the remote sensing images.(4)This thesis choosed ArcGIS Engine which is a component of ArcGIS as the empolder method to designed a vegetation index spatial database system.The empolder language is C#;empolder platform is Visual Studio.NET 2010.This system not only can accomplish the integration and storage management of spatial data and attribute data but also have some GIS basic functions such as data management,basic maps and layers operation,data statistical analysis etc.which can provide visual data for the ecological management of the middle reaches of the Tarim River.
