According to the Framing Theory, the mass media as an important window for audience to know the world is affecting how people see the world to some extent.People's Daily as an official newspaper of central government, shall convey the voice of the communist party and the government, promote mainstream ideology of the country, and build the image of Tibet as an official media. As an ethnic minority region,Tibet's image shall influence China and international community's judgment and knowledge about the Tibetan people,Tibet region and the entire ethnic group. As for Tibet, its regional image will become a precious resource for its development with the rapid development and internationalization of the society. The research used questionnaires and interviews and It is found that there are some problems when the mass media is presenting the image of Tibet. Then,a quantitative analysis was made on Tibetan reports in People's Daily between 2014 and 2016 and its construction of the Tibetan image was obtained.Based on analysis of samples,it is found that Tibet is harmonious, stable region with beautiful scenery and abundant resources where people unite together to develop its economy under the support of the government as presented by People's Daily. When the media is disseminating and constructing the image of a region,it will be inevitably affected by a variety of subjective and objective "factors".Therefore,People's Daily, under the influence of a variety of "factors",has built an image that has certain deviations for Tibet. At last, this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to build a more objective and comprehensive image of Tibet according to analysis of these deviations based on the theory of news production.
