Research On The Social Support Network Of Rural Left-behind Women In Gongshan Town, Xundian County, Kunming City

The quality of urbanization in China continues to increase since the reform and opening up.A large number of rural male migrate for works,leaving women left behind in rural areas.These left-behind women have to face difficulties coming from agricultural productions,support of the elderly,child rearing and lack of cultural resources on their own.To help the left-behind women in rural areas to resolve these problems,construction of sound social support network becomes an effectively method.In this research,the situation of rural left-behind women in Gongshan town,Xundian country,Kunming,Yunnan province has been investigated by questionnaire survey and individual interview.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 100 rural left-behind women,and the data were analyzed statistically.Case studies were conducted on 5 left-behind women.The aim is to understand the dilemma left-behind women facing and the situation of social support network for them in Gongshan.The questions exist and influence factors of social support network were then analyzed.The results of investigation show that the social support network for rural left-behind women in Gongshan is mainly informal support,lacking of formal support while the role and advantages of informal support have not been fully exploited,not enough to help the left-behind women to overcome the difficulties they have to face.According to the conclusions above,construction of perfect left-behind women social support network was suggested from the perspective of polycentric governance.The main measures are listed below: Government leading: Improve the legal system to ensure legitimate rights and interests rights and interests,policy support and institution guarantee,develop economy to provide opportunities,departments gearing and policy integration.Cooperation of social organizations: Strengthen the functions of the village committee,give full play to the advantages of women's federations,and cultivate social organizations.Promoting mutual aid organizations;Excavate existing resources: Lay emphasis on family support,enhance geopolitical support,realize self-support and so on.
