Purpose:To explore the clinical effect and the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis,as well as to provide the reliable clinical data of it.Material and method:This study selected 56 patients who have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine bone in two wards and outpatient department. The patients were divided into two groups, drug group and control group,28 cases of each, obeying the principle of randomized controlled trial, both of which received basic treatment.Drug group were given oral medicine, guide Celecoxib Capsules combined with traditional Chinese medicine(Duhuojisheng Tang),while the control group was treated with oral treatment of Celecoxib Capsules with iontophoresis(0.9%Nacl).In the end of the treatment,VAS score and WOMAC score were used as the main observation indexes for the comparison of the two groups of patients. Results: 1 After the treatment, the VAS score and WOMAC score of both of the groups decreased, compared with the scores before the treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);2 After treatment, the VAS score and WOMAC score of the two groups were statistically significant(P < 0.05),the drug group was better than the control group;3 After treatment, the total efficiency of the drug group was 92.86% while the control group was 71.43%,the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05),the drug group was better than the control group; Conclusion: 1 Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug has a certain effect in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.2 There is a dramatic improvement of traditional Chinese medicine iontophoresis therapy in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis when coordinated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
