Clinical Observation Of Lujiao Zhuanggu Capsule On Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

Objective:To explore effect of Lujiao Zhuanggu capsule on bone density,back pain and related biochemical indexes in treating patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis(syndrome of liver and kidney deficiency)and discuss its efficacy and safety in the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis.Method:A total of 66 patients met postmenopausal osteoporosis(syndrome of liver and kidney deficiency)that treated in orthopedic clinic of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly divided into study group(n=32)and control group(n=34).Vitamin D Drops and Calcium Gluconate tablets were given to the control group orally,based on which the study group was given additional Lujiao Zhuanggu capsules.The course of treatment lasted for six months.Scores of back pain and secondary symptoms were evaluated respectively before the treatment and after 6 months.Changes of serum calcium,serum alkaline phosphatase and serum estradiol were detected and bone density was determined before and after the treatment.At last back pain remission degree and total curative effect were analyzed.Results:(1)Evaluation of curative effect:Among 30 cases in the study group,0 cases showed markedly effective,22 cases showed effective and 8 cases showed no effect,therefore,the effective rate was 73.3%;and among 32 cases in the control group,0 cases showed markedly effective,15 cases showed effective and 17 cases showed no effect,therefore,the effective rate was 46.9%.There was significant difference between the two groups(p<0.05).(2)Comparing VAS scores of back pain:There were remarkably significant differences between the two groups in VAS scores before and after the treatment(p<0.01);and there significant differences when comparing VAS scores between the two groups after six months of treatment(p<0.05).(3)Comparing scores of secondary symptoms:Secondary symptoms of the study group achieved remission,there was significant difference in comparing secondary symptoms before and after the treatment(p<0.01);but there was no significant difference in comparing secondary symptoms of the control group before and after the treatment(p>0.05);When comparing remission of secondary symptoms between the two groups after six months,there was significant difference(p<0.05).(4)Changes of serum calcium:content of serum calcium in the two groups was increased after six months,and effects were equivalent(p>0.05).(5)Changes of serum estradiol:there was significant statistical difference in comparing content of serum estradiol in the study group before and after the treatment(p<0.01);but there was no obvious changes of serum estradiol in the control group before and after the treatment(p>0.05).(6)Changes of serum alkaline phosphatase:there were significant differences in comparing content of serum alkaline phosphatase in each group before and after the treatment(p<0.01);and comparison result between the two groups showed content of serum alkaline phosphatase in the study group reduced much more(p<0.01).(7)Changes of bone density:there were no obvious changes in comparing bone density in each group after six months of treatment than before the treatment,with no significant differences(p>0.05).Conclusion:The content of serum calcium and serum estrogen can be increased and the content of serum alkaline phosphatase can be effectively reduced in postmenopausal women by taking Lujiao Zhuanggu capsule,which suggested Lujiao Zhuanggu capsule is safe and effective to alleviate clinical symptoms due to postmenopausal osteoporosis(syndrome of liver and kidney deficiency),which is worth popularizing application in clinic.
