Objectives:To investigate value of cytogenetics in diagnosis and treatment of acute leukemia by chromosome analysis of acute leukemia. The correlation between karyotype and effective was analyzed according to cytogenetic classification. Methods:Prepare chromosome of bone marrow cell by short-term culture method, analyze karyotype of 94 acute leukemia patients by G banding, and follow-up was done among the 82 patients received induction treatment. Results:In the 94 acute leukemia patients, detection rate of abnormal chromosome karyotype was 67%. And the first complete remission rate was 77% among the 82 patients that received treatment. Prognosis of patients with normal chromosome karyotype and typical t (15; 17) was good. Conclusions:Over 60% acute leukemia patients have abnormal chromosome. Change of cytogenetics is an independent influence factor of prognosis in acute leukemia patients.
