Shanxi as a coal-rich province of in China, with the exploitation of coal resources, the atmosphere, water, soil heavy metal pollution and other environmental issues have become increasingly prominent, seriously affecting the daily life of the mining area residents. As a by-product of coal mining, coal waste piles is the main source of environmental pollution, while reclamation is the best way to solve the environmental problems of coal waste piles. This essay research on the benefit of reclamation and residents' environmental attitude and feedback, with a view to provide a scientific basis for the mining environmental restoration and reconstruction, to provide more targeted information and ideas for the coal mine enterprise and the government.This article is aim to do a survey on Shanxi Province Wangzhuang coal mine area, which researches the soil physicochemical property and the distribution of heavy metal of different vegetation modes by some particular research methods named field sampling, laboratory experiments and questionnaires research and analyses the perception degree of the environment and the satisfaction of the environment of the coal mine area residents. Combined the real treatment situation to coal waste piles and the perception and satisfaction degree of residents, this essay studies on the profits and problems of ecological restoration of Wang Zhuang coal mine area. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) From the view of benefits on the reclamation of coal waste piles, locust tree vegetation mode has excellent improvement effects on soil water content, soil bulk density, soil pH and soil organic matter. It is the most suitable vegetation mode of coal waste piles reclamation at this area.(2) The percentage of heavy metals such as Zn, Cu, Pb, As and Cr in the soil coal waste piles were lower than the national secondary standard, while the content of Pb and Cr exceed Shanxi background value, especially Cr. Cypress tree vegetation mode has the maximum absorption on Zn and Cu, and has the obviously purification function on Pb, forest tree mode has the obviously purification function on As and Cr.(3) The residents believe that the environmental health of the mining area is the best while the trees and water quality rank in the second place. The air quality is the worst. They admit local companies hard work on improving the environment and give enough support to help deal with environmental problems. The residents recognize the reclamation work well. Residents' attribute has great influence on the environment perception.(4) The factor that affects residents'satisfaction to the environment most is air quality. The followings are environmental hygiene, vegetation area and water quality. It the four factors are improved by a certain level, the possibility of improving residents' satisfaction to the environment by a certain level will rise at 5.033,1.779,1.595,1.430 times. So we can draw a conclusion that improving air quality as well as vegetation area is the most urgent mission. All of the above should be carefully dealt with to make residents more satisfied.(5) Combing the result of the experiment and residents environmental perception, the environmental improvement work in Wangzhuang coal gangue has achieved some success. The environment of mine area has been restored in some degree, which contributes to improve residents' environmental satisfaction. We should propagate the reclamation of coal waste pile in local area to achieve ecological benefit.
