Since the 11 th Five-Year Plan, China airline industry has reduced constantly energy consumption per unit of output with the rapid development of the industry. However, this speedy development of air transport in the future is not necessarily accompanied by a rapid lowering of total energy consumption. The increasing pressure will be energy conservation and emission reduction. As the main body of air transport energy-saving, the fuel consumption of airlines accounted for 94% of the entire industry. Therefore, the research about airlines energy-saving is particularly necessary.It based on the civil aviation industry, studies our airlines using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods. A number of econometric methods and evaluation theory are also involved in this research which aims at comprehensive assessment of our future development of airline industry energy-saving and emission reduction. Some related measures and suggestions will be proposed at the end.First, the civil aviation industry's emission reduction targets at home and abroad are summarized in this paper. It also analyzes the internal and external pressures to deal with the current airline environment issues. Second, the carbon dioxide emissions of our airline industry are predicted by using 3E dimensions of the scene based on law of development of our country's history. The results show that carbon emissions from our airlines on international routes will peak in 2038-2043 year. And the most pessimistic projections show that emissions at peak point will more than 50 million tons. Third, this paper creates a evaluation index system of energy-saving status for the first time and evaluates the current energy-saving situation of China's three major airlines in 2012 by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method based on gray correlation degree. Finally, it collates and analyzes foreign airlines energy-saving advanced technology and management experience. A detailed interpretation of improving aircraft maintenance, reducing aircraft weight and optimizing route planning is expounded and recommended measures for China's airlines energy-saving and emission reduction work are proposed.
