Millimeter wave power module(MMPM)is an important component of military equipment and civil communications.Compared to TWT amplifiers and solid-state power amplifiers,millimeter-wave power modules combine the advantages of both with high efficiency and miniaturization,Therefore,they are widely used in military equipment.it has also become a hot topic for contemporary scholars.Microwave solid state drives not only provide front-end drive power traveling wave tube,more importantly,through the power balance,solve TWT gain uneven problems.Therefore,the equalizer is a key component of the gain compensation of the traveling wave tube,and constitutes a driving front end together with the microwave solid state amplifying circuit.The structure and performance of the equalizer affect the working level of the module,and the miniaturization of the module also makes the equalizer miniaturization the focus of scholars.At the same time as material improvement and process improvement,the discovery of new structures and new theories is also the key to equalizer research.This paper summarizes the gain equalizer design theory and synthesis method,uses the SIR resonant unit to improve the low-end insertion loss,and applies it to the design of Ka full-band microwave gain equalizer.Because the physical size of the traditional equalizer is too large to meet the needs of miniaturization,in order to solve this problem,this paper based on the theory of the compound right and left hand transmission line,a double-absorbed-resistor resonator is realized under the condition that the terminal is short-circuited,and a new CRLH equalizer is completed in parallel by two resonant units.At present,the structure of the equalizer is complex.In this paper,by using the wave trap characteristics of the defected ground structure,a serial form “I” type DGS equalizer design is completed.Compared with the traditional parallel form equalizer,this design greatly reduces the sensitivity of absorbing resistor tolerances under large equalization conditions.Finally,in order to meet the requirements of the integrated equalization and power capacity of the traveling wave tube equalizer in the MPM,a 1200um×1000um chip-level equalizer was designed using GaN technology,which can meet the requirements of batch applications and provide new ideas for the development of integrated equalizers in the next step.Finally,this paper completed the design of Ka full-band drive amplification module,with a maximum output power of more than 27 dBm and an input VSWR of less than 2,with detection monitoring,RF switch,and temperature compensation functions,which can achieve stable power amplification from-55? to 85?.
