In the research field of the hummingbird like flapping wing micro air vehicle(MAV),there are two main aspects: the flapping wing micro air robot investigation and the flapping wing aerodynamics study.The focus of this paper is to explore a method or an idea of wing design and optimization of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV.When study the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV design and optimization,we should firstly understand the reasons of natural hummingbirds flying creatures which are capablely and so excellently.Secondly,the initial design parameters,such as quality and correlation,are needed to study and analyze.Finally,the initial design parameters of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV should be simulated and optimized.In the first chapter,the research background and significance of the design and optimization why we did of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV are presented.Mainly overviewed the bionic researches on hummingbird like flapping flying creatures and proposed an overview of aerodynamics of biomimetic the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV.The the second chapter provides the original design inspiration for the mechanical structure of the robot and the wing by counting the physiological parameters of a large number of hummingbird like flapping flying creatures.The concept of lumped parameter k is proposed in this paper.The design method based on the lumped parameter k is presented,which solves the scale design problem of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV.In the third chapter,using the modern unsteady aerodynamics simulation model,the wing parameters of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV wing based on the lumped parameter k are simulated and optimized,and the optimized wing parameters of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV robot is completed.In the fourth chapter,a test platform is designed to test the lift of the wing optimized hummingbird like flapping wing MAV robot,the flying experiment tests of the type of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV robot can be carried out along the suspension line and the free flight experiment with passive air damping devices is added.The experimental results show that the design and optimization method of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV wing design which based on lumped parameter k is correct.This research provided a new ideas and research method for the mechanical structure and wing parameters optimization design of the hummingbird like flapping wing MAV robot.It has great practical value and significance in the field of micro Bionic Flapping Wing MAV Design and research.
