In response to the explosive growth of wireless data services,the Fifth Generation mobile communication system came into being.Among the key technologies of 5G,Massive MIMO has become the focus of the communication industry.Besides,the channel emulator can reconstruct the propagation of wireless channels in the laboratory environment,shortening the research cycle of wireless channels and makes it more widely used in academic research and engineering testing.Based on the principle of software radio,this paper introduces the hardware and software framework of the channel simulator.After that,this thesis studies the communication algorithm of FPGA based on baseband processing algorithm and inter-board,it can obtain the limit number of MIMO channels in a single baseband boards and a data processing framework based on multiple baseband boards is proposed,which encourages the realization of Massive MIMO model in channel simulator.Specific research points include:(1)Optimize FPGA Interpolation and Convolution Modules.Firstly,for the interpolation module,the paper redefines the frame format of the channel parameters,improves the interpolation timing logic,and improves the accuracy of the interpolation algorithm.Secondly,the convolution module is optimized to reduce the system error and improve the resource utilization of the algorithm,so that the baseband processing module can maximize the utilization of the board-level resources while ensuring the accuracy.Finally,in order to verify the entire baseband processing module,a series of channel model data is used to perform algorithm verification and error evaluation on the hardware.(2)A high-speed serial interface based on the Aurora protocol is implemented on the FPGA.Because the Massive MIMO model has a very large number of channels,a single baseband processing module cannot be implemented independently,and multiple baseband cards are required.This paper presents a solution to the real-time communication problems encountered by the multi-board card when running the FPGA.Through the Aurora communication protocol,real-time communication between FPGAs is realized on hardware,and the communication quality of the interface is verified.(3)Make resource assessment of FPGAs and obtain a data processing framework based on multiple baseband boards.Combined with the baseband digital processing module and communication module,the resources of the whole software framework are evaluated to get the maximum number of channels realized by MIMO channel in the current experimental platform,it can give the optimization direction of the FPGA algorithm and a data processing framework based on multi-baseband board is proposed in this paper,which provides a theoretical basis for implementing the Massive MIMO channel model for multi-board cards in the future.In summary,this paper is focus on the key technology of the channel emulator.We investigate the Massive MIMO system and focus on the research of FPGA in the channel emulator.The above research results are based on the experimental platform of FPGA baseband card,and it is hoped that these results will be helpful to complete the Massive MIMO model in the channel emulator.
