Wind load is one of the main loads on the ground radome,which will affect the strength and stability of the radome and will also indirectly influence the accuracy of the radar antenna,resulting in partial focal point deviation and defocusing.Thus,research on radome under wind load is an important aspect for the design of radome.In this paper,SolidWorks is used to establish the radome geometry model.After meshing the model in ANSYS ICEM,the radome is imported into FLUENT to calculate the flow field under wind load,then the calculation results of the flow field can generate charts and wind pressure contours in the post-processing software CFD Post.Finally,ANSYS APDL platform is used to analyse the radome structure in the paper.For the FLUENT flow field,three turbulence models,including the standard model,RNG model and Reliable model,are adopted to calculate the coefficient of aerodynamic characteristics and pressure distribution.As a result,we found that the RNG model is more suitable for the simulation.Moreover,wind tunnel test is performed to vertify the simulation results under wind speed of 20 m/s,28 m/s and 36 m/s respectively.Then,wind pressure on the radome surface is compared in numerical simulation and experiments.It was found that pressure curves on the windward side of the radome in numerical simulation matched very well with the experiment,while the results lateral side and leeward side show a deviation.Furthermore,there is a positive correlation between the wind pressure and wind speed.Overall,the trend between the meridional and latitudinal pressure curves under various wind speed is the same,also the peak and inflection point on the pressure curve is similar.Based on the results of the numerical simulation under the wind load and wind tunnel test for ground radome,the results show that the numerical simulation is essential for radome design in engineering field.
