Modern wireless communication system is being changed greatly.The communication service of 2G,3G,LTE,5G,Wifi and Wimax needs better performance of antenna and requires the integration of multiple communication frequency.At the same time it puts forward higher requirement of antenna communication system terminal antenna,that is with wider band width,smaller size,can cover multiple band communication system and save space.Therefore,the microstrip antenna is favored by researchers based on its simple structure,light weight,low profile,and conformability.However,the work frequency–band is not wide enough also restricts the wide application of microstrip antenna.It's difficult to reduce the size of microstrip antenna and at the same time broaden the bandwidth of it.This thesis focuses on the research of the ways to broaden the microstrip antenna bandwidth and introduces the antenna miniaturization technology in detail.This thesis models and simulates a new kind of broadband dipole antenna which is proposed by Luk et al.The modelling and simulation is achieved by the use of HFFS10.Through the optimization of the antenna structure,the factors that affect the performance of the antenna are analyzed.And on the basis of the above antenna,a microstrip patch antenna is presented,which is printed on the dielectric plate.The simulation results show that the working frequency band(2.45 GHz ~ 3.25GHz)has smal er size and stable gain.This thesis changes the radiation patch and the feeder part of the printed dipole antenna on the basis of the above research.The staircase feeder structure replaces the(38)model feeder.The radiation patch adopts rectangular radiating patch,U type patch and E type patch to analyze the performance of the antenna.The working frequency was 2.4GHz ~ 3.25 GHz,2.24 GHz ~ 3.25 GHz,2.21 GHz ~ 3.6GHz.It has good radiation characteristics and stable gain of 8dB which meets the design requirements and engineering needs of this thesis basically.
