Originated from Japan,Guichu,a new video type of anime culture started to attract the attention from the communication scholar and the whole social community with the popularization of some social buzzwords such as"Duang","You wouldn't even give me 100 yuan" and "Are you OK".The absurd and funny Guichu video which can bring entertainment effect and trigger social-scale discussion and spread has developed for almost 10 years in China,but few of people sort out the knowledge about its origin,development and type features,let alone the analysis of it under the perspective of communication.Taking the recreational function of communication and the communication pleasure between human and communication as its research focus,the"unpopular" play theory of mass communication brought up by William Stephenson attaches great importance to the initiative of human being and the game playing of communication.The theory is suitable for the in-depth analysis of the Guichu video bringing people with a lot of pleasure.With the application of the theory,the various characteristics of this video can be known,the vacancy in the study of communication made up,the knowledge of the video better understood by common people.The thesis which takes the play theory of mass communication as the theoretical basis carries out a comprehensive study on this kind of video using the methods of literature analysis,participatory observation,content analysis and in-depth interview.The thesis consists of five parts.The first part introduces the background and significance of the research,and highlights the research and application of the current research situation of the emerging media and the popular theory of mass communication game theory.The second part explains the mass communication game theory in detail,and shows the core content of the theory.The third part briefly introduces the platform Bilibili and the status quo of the Guichu video on it.In the third part,the author made a detailed study on the content,target audience and author of the Guichu video with the help of play theory of mass communication and come to a conclusion of the features of this kind of video.The fifth part of the thesis studied the new changes of the video,and the author comes out of suggestions for its better development and thinks about a way out for its bright future by analyzing the communication feature of it and reflecting the problem and some bad effects by the Guichu video.
