With the progress and development of technology,the strategies that are Internet of Things and Internet Plus were proposed by Chinese government.Thus,Mobile Ad Hoc Network's development of prospects has been wildly opened.MANET is self-organization,no center,dynamic topology and other features which makes it has good prospects and extensive usage scenarios.This paper is based on our laboratory existing theories and research about MANET system which includes network management platform and communication nodes.Network management platform can entire network topology information and node's sensor information.Communication nodes has sensors such as Radio Frequency Identification(RFID),temperature,humidity,GPS,audio,video and other multimedia modules.A stable hardware platform is a prerequisite for good communication systems.We mainly complete hardware driver transplant,network interface card driver changing,creating the Linux file system,building the system kernel,and loading the communication protocol on the communication devices.Through those methods it provides a robust operation system for network management platform and communication nodes.Now ensuring communication systems have stable hardware platform.This paper is based on the idea of cross-layer design using the physical layer and data link layer information to provide the basis judge path finding for MANET.This cross-layer design would determine whether the link is stable and symmetry,thus ensuring the correct route reply messages can be delivered to the source node.Generally speaking,the cross-layer design combines the signal power strength information on physical layer,data transmission on data link layer and routing judgment on network layer.All of those information will be delivered to the application layer and guarantee the data transmission.We use cross-layer design to the actual MANET communication platform.With extensive filed testing experiment and certain tools to analyzing,the statistical data such as throughput,end to end delay and packet loss rate.By comparing the corresponding parameters with other routing protocol,cross-layer design modified AODV routing protocol not only get a stable link,but also increase the number of hops between communication nodes.
