With the increasing emphasis on maritime rights and interests ? the development of marine economy rise and the rapid development of terrestrial wireless sensor network research around the world. Research on underwater acoustic communication technology has become a new hotspot. The scale, standardization and networked underwater acoustic communication technique shows the unique superiority on competition of command of the sea and waters monitoring both in military and civilian aspects. Until now,with the increasing demand of marine environment of the world, the underwater communication technology is required to be developed. The papper summarized as follows:1. The propagation characteristics of underwater acoustic channel and underwater acoustic network features were summarized in this papper. Factors affecting the underwater acoustic channel were studied. It provided an important theoretical support for underwater acoustic communication system design and the selection of technical parameters.2. Full path routing algorithm and energy optimization routing algorithm were presented based on the features of underwater communication in this paper. Full path routing algorithm is a kind of table-driven routing algorithm, it is intended to find all possible paths from the source to the destination nodes. The algorithm creates a rich alternate path. Customers will not be confined to the shortest path. The algorithm well adapted to the situation that underwater sensor moving around and it can avoid that routing paralysis caused by Individual path fracture. Besides, it avoided node premature failure which is in excellent path by balancing node consumption. Energy optimization routing algorithm is a kind of demand-driven routing algorithm. It reformed Full path routing algorithm and aims to find all shortest path. The simulation result shows that the algorithm is faster in establishing and has smaller power consumption.3. Control signal integrity program was presented for CSAM/CA agreement in this paper.The program combined RTS and CTS signal in transfer process.It means that channel is reserved in advance. After the data arrival, RTS will not be send again.The program simplifying the protocol process. The simulation result shows that energy consumption and data transmission time reduced.4. The underwater acoustic communication protocol was simulated and in this paper by OMNET++. Human interaction interface was designed by Qt. Network structure, the number of nodes, the amount of data, delay and other parameters were defined by the interface.Protocol running processes and simulation results was displayed visually.
