Study On Graphical User Interface Design Based On Metaphor

Interface designs explosive growth while the era of big data coming. As a media of human-computer interaction, Graphical user interface(GUI) plays a major role in running software's functions and improving users' experience. As a cognitive way of thinking, metaphor plays a critical role in HCI. The GUI,which designed based metaphor, offers the relevant enlightenment according to users' experience background, and helps the user finish their task and operation.This article first elaborates the research background, the present situation and the significance, as well as research methods and the innovation. In addition, the paper expatiates on the related concepts of graphical user interface and metaphor, and summarized the classification of graphics interface, expounded the working mechanism of metaphor, and the development history of GUI ' s design based on metaphor. What's more,combined with specific cases, the author explores the profound effect of designing graphical user interface based on metaphor cognitive thinking. And,the author divides it into different types, which are the orientation metaphor,the ontological metaphor and the structural metaphor. And finally, the author put forward some design methods and design principles by analyzing different types of emphasis.
