With the development of information technology and the in-depth of the concept of medical services, patient-centric clinical information system has been put into use in China's major hospitals. Clinical information system stores the patient's basic information, disease diagnosis, the vital signs and other information. However, those information has not been kown by patients through any suitable route, and health care workers need to go back and forth between wards and workstations to access information. Temporary orders and the patient's vital signs can not be timely written into clinical information systems. Therefore, the design of this system will extend clinical information systems to the patient bedside. It can achieve the fast query of the information, timely entry of information of the patient's vital signs and other functions. Then it can help people reducing manual operations and updating information in real time.The ARM-based clinical information terminal system in this paper uses the ARM S3C2440 microprocessor as the core processor. It is based on wireless network technology. It uses the LCD touch screen as the display and input terminal. The paper uses the linux system as the operating system and uses the software Qt to achieve the graphical user interface. It also integrate database technology. The system can fully meet the needs of first-line clinical. It helps people building a stable and reliable platform to quickly and easily disseminate and interact the informations. It greatly expands the scope of the function of the clinical information systems and makes itself become more diversify, professional and humane.This paper designs and describes the overall design scheme of the system, and based on the actual needs designes the function of the system. According to functional requirements and the required peripheral devices, this paper selectes Mini2440 embedded development board as the hardware development platform. Then set up a software development environment based on this, including building cross-compiler environment, migrating Linux operating system, transplanting Qt graphical user interface development environment. Next, The paper uses the MySQL database software to create a clinical information system(CIS) database in the server end of the system, and the system terminal transplants the appropriate drivers. Finally, this paper completes the writing and debugging of clinical information system database access, graphical user interface program and TCP / IP network communication program.
