Research On Archive Information Service Based On Social Media

Social media is popular for its participation, interaction and connectivity, along with the development of technology and the construction of archives informatization, it has exerted an influence on the archive information service. On the one hand, the applications of social media can definitely remedying those weaknesses such as passive service, bad quality service. On the other hand, it may make the archive information service more difficult and the authenticity of archives more unreliable. So the archive information service, as an important work that promotes the development of archives, is facing both opportunities and challenges under the impacting of social media.It analyses the necessity of social media application in archive information service based on the widespread use of social media and the value of the social media brings to the archive information service in this paper. Then it states the main content of this thesis. First, interaction between archive information services and social media, this part mainly expounds the characteristics of social media, development conditions and main types, defines the concept of archival information and social media, and analysis the connection between them. Second, the value of social media applications in archive information service, for archival institutions, it can save the service cost, improve the quality of service, and promote the social image. For the archives workers, it can mobilize the enthusiasm, improve innovation and improve efficiency. For the archives users, it can promote public participation, leisure and convenience. It indicates the importance of social media for archive information service work. Third, the application forms of social media in archive information service, it elaborates the current application ways, including micro-blog, forum, WeChat, Wikipedia, blog and mainly surveys the application of micro-blog and WeChat. Then the author finds out some problems and puts forward more application modes of social media, such as community platform, photo sharing sites, video sharing sites. Fourth, strategies of social media applications in the archive information service, macroscopic and microcosmic aspects are described in this part. Macroscopically speaking, we should expand application mode, keep pace with times and engage in exploitation and innovation. Microcosmically speaking, we should optimize library resources, emphasis on citizen participation and classify the information of users. Archival institutions will be batter with the implementation of these measures. Finally, conclusion, this part gives a summative statement of the paper.
