The College Entrance Examination(CEE),as one of the most important education examination system in China,has been highly concerned by the society for a long time,and is also an important research topic in theoretical circles.Literature research shows that the content of the domestic research on the college entrance examination is mainly concerned about the college entrance examination system,policy,reform,function,fairness,subjects and test questions,etc.Speculative research and experience summary are the mainly-used methods.The psychological research on the concept of examination,especially the concept of college entrance examination is relatively insufficient,and questionnaire accounted for a large proportion in the few empirical studies.The validity and reliability of questionnaire depends on the authenticity of the subjects,and the matching between the requirements for the design of the questionnaire and the subjects.The word association method can avoid the shortcomings of the questionnaire method.The concept is a form of thinking through the reflection of things unique or essential attribute,and has close ties to the words,concepts tend to use words to express,to consolidate and records,its formation also need words to achieve.The act of thinking of someone else or something(concept)as a result of someone or something is referred to as association.Word association method is that the researchers or investigators explore and construct the concept of structure by analyzing and processing related words which the subjects thought,and to understand the corresponding group's awareness and understanding of the concept.As the main body of the college entrance examination for high school students,the cognition and understanding of the concept of exploration,can understand the current high school students Examination psychology(view),and then find the corresponding teaching and tutoring strategy,not only to ease the students and their parents test anxiety,but also for the improvement of the college entrance examination system and the reform of college entrance examination.Based on the Spreading Activation Model,the Word Association Method was used to study the concept of "College Entrance Examination" for high school students.First of all,"college entrance examination" as a stimulus word,1359 senior high school students,who were selected By using stratified random sampling method in Jiangxi province,PRC,were asked to write down as much as possible to the words related to the "College Entrance Examination",and then the words were collected for statistical analysis.It was found that the associative words are rich and extensive,totally,14436 effective associative words were collected.Secondly,on the basis of the preliminary analysis of associative words,the first 80 high frequency words were selected,classified,from which classified data were obtained and analyzed by the way of clustering.Results showed that the high school students' concepts of college entrance examination are characterized from six aspects such as "the reference appendix process","comprehensive test status","family","development and the future life","college" and "emotional experience and activities after the exam".Last,on the basis of high frequency word data and classification data,Chi-Square Test was used to analyze the differences between the different groups.The results showed that: the individual's association with the concept of college entrance examination was influenced by gender,grade,subject and registered residence.
