| On the condition of current medical standards,the possibility of curing cancer is very small.With the continuous development of China's material and spiritual civilization,people's awareness of hospice care has grsdually increased and the hospice care service for terminal cancer patients has also gradually developed.Li Ka Shing Foundation created our country's first hospice in 1998,providing free treatment for poor cancer patients,such as analgesic therapy,psychological support and life ethics.The Ministry of Civil Affairs has started the project of supporting social organizations to participate in social service by the central government finance” since 2012,arranging 200 million yuan of funds each year to support the social service of social organizations.In such an environment,"Hospice Project" emerged.As a central government project,"Hospice project" implements project operation,complying with the requirements of the central government projects,relying on the universities and the hospices,serving terminal cancer patients by college students,and the supervision team consists of a part-time professional supervisor and an organization supervisor.Because the exploration of hospice social work service has just started,the mature experience of social work intervention in hospice care is not much,mainly focusing on the exploration at the macro level and the exploration of specific work methods.Previous studies on the social work supervisor of hospice social is particularly rare,but continuous and targeted social work supervision has a great impact on the field of hospice care directly or indirectly.This study uses case study method of qualitative research,taking "Hospice Project" as an example,to make an empirical research on the social work supervisors of hospice care in China,focusing on the presented characteristics of social work supervisions when they play functions.The study found that the functions of supervisors in the social work service for hospice care have the following characteristics:(1)Administrative function.Firstly,there appears supervisor assistant.Secondly,administrative supervision occupies most of the supervision time.Thirdly,Supervisors need to assistant volunteers to complete identity.(2)Educational function.Firstly,the project office bears part of the educational function of supervision.Secondly,supervisors need to discuss the view of life and death with the volunteers.Thirdly,it is important to focus on the supervision of hospice companionship.(3)Support function.The special function of supervisor is to serve as a grief therapist and spiritual masseur of the volunteers.The study suggests that: we need pay attention to the function and feature of supervisors for hospice care,integrate three functions,concern the development of theory,pay attention to the specialist training of the social worker supervisors for hospice care,and improve the social work service mechanism by the motivation of the national level. |
