The ancient stage is not only the crucial place that is for opera play,but also important product of folk culture with massive historical and cultural information.We are able to enrich the documents of ancient stage and explore the historical causes of opera's born,even attaining some knowledge about the history of the development of opera through researching old-age stage.This article is aimed at putting forward corresponding solving measures for some problems which exist ancient stage,based on systematic investigating and collecting to 207 Yu County ancient stages and inscriptions,stage notes,combining with the references and the knowledge of folklore and sociology,regarding them as starting point with systematically analyzes its production history and architecture characteristics,drama and cultural functions.Yu County has a special geographical location in the Central Plains and the North,Shanxi and Hebei provinces' traffic hub and the hub of trade.Yu County ancient stage has its characteristics in architectural form aspect,because affected by local environment and humanistic factors,acting as a place for opera play.The characteristics basically is behaved in some aspects,the building has the advantages of simple structure,the roof predominate on the hard mountain roof or rolled shed hard mountain roof,main beam structure adopts the lifting beam frame to ensure it is simple and solid.The part of the platform constructed with rammed earth while the external of it was protected by lateral.The stage always decorated with painting and sculpture as a supplement.Performances of the opera on the stage used to play frequently,and the regular performances or irregular performances is carried outalternately,which is complementary to each other.This condition resulted in the time span of local opera performance is too long.The varieties of tunes including Xianzi Tune,Yu County Bangzi and North Shanxi Road Bangzi,making local opera and nonlocal drama lead to perfect integration,reflecting the containment of culture.The introduction of Northroad Bangzi affected by trade,Shanxi merchants for Northroad Bangzi in different development provides a solid economic foundation,and prompted the Bangzi opera artist enhance the level of opera performance art.At the same time,the spread of Bangzi opera for shanxi merchants also further expand the market,to solve problems in business provides a good opportunity,and to a certain extent,to the merchant's psychological comfort.The product of Yu County ancient stage is the folk culture,also is the place where people pray for deity or rain,thank God for bumper harvest with strong religious meaning.Meanwhile it also is an pretty place of education with entertaining,plays a great role in maintaining the stability of social order.In addition,Yu County ancient stage is a good area as well as entertainment,on the one hand people watched the opera performances,get the spirit of enjoyment.on the other hand,During the period of temple fair it acts as the center to form the market,conducting trade of agricultural products in public,providing convenience.Obviously Yu County economic development influences people's lives.Therefore,Yu County ancient stage has very high academic value for us to launch further study about Yu County people's social life of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
