In the late Ming Dynasty, with the development of commodity economy, the society had changed dramatically, the personality liberation trend arose. At the same time, this is also a political unrest and corrupted period. A large number of essays presented in this complex social context, many famous writers appeared, such as san yuan of Gong'an, Zhong Xing and Tan Yuanchun of Jingling, etc. Their works are in completely different styles, and had been put a profound influence in the literary circle of late Ming Dynasty. Dijing Jingwu Lue is the typical work at the later stage of the Jingling School. In the course of writing, Liu Tong focused on the use of distinct and vivid languages in scenery description, which fully embodied the "deep-secludedness and lonely-vigorousness" style.This paper chooses essays of Dijing Jingwu Lue as the main subject and tries to discuss from the following aspects:The introduction is a literature review on previous researches, and then briefly introduces the reason of choosing this thesis topic. This part is focused on achievements of contemporary scholars. Meanwhile, at the end of this part, there is an introduction to the research value of this paper.The first chapter mainly discusses the historical background of Dijing Jingwu Lue, which includes the political reality, the economic environment and the cultural atmosphere. The complex social situation has a profound influence on the writing of these essays.The second chapter introduces the problem of authorship and the writing process of this book. Firstly, the book was written by three like-minded friends, Yu Yizheng collected research material, Zhou Sun selected poems, Liu Tong organized languages. Secondly, this section also discusses precise writing attitude and the problem of editions, then introduces two famous literati, Ji Yun and Pu Songling, they paid attention to deleting and arranging this book.The third chapter is about a wide variety of subjects in the book. This part is divided into five sections:famous gardens, local customs, temples, scenic spots and celebrity relics.The fourth chapter discusses the ideological content that was included in these essays. The first part compares flourishing scenery with deserted scenery in order to cherish Liu Tong's memory of prosperous period of Ming Dynasty;the second part is about Liu Tong's bumpy experience in the Imperial Examination and his political ideals; the third part introduces his intense national sentiments; the fourth part discusses that Liu Tong paid more attention to analyzing and thinking social issues.The fifth chapter aims to discuss the artistic characteristics of Dijing Jingwu Lue. This chapter attempts to analyze the article features from the perspectives of scene-description art, language art and structural art, so that we could have systematic comprehension of these essays'art aesthetic value. Finally, the author briefly summarizes its literary influence in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty.The last part of this paper is the conclusion, which is on the basis of summarizing the whole article, affirms the literary value of these essays and the significance of research in Dijing Jingwu Lue.
