Objective It’s designed to observe and compare efficacy between St.John’s Wort Extract combined with oryzanol-riboflavin-Vitamin E and oryzanol-riboflavin-Vitamin E in the treatment of Burning Mouth Syndrome(BMS),to explore whether there is a di fference in the two ways. Methods 60 patients diagnosed Burning Mouth Syndrome and mild to moderate depression by clinical diagnosis. They were randomly divided into experiment group and control group,30 cases in each group. The pain scores are assessed by VisualAnalogue Scale(VAS),the depression scores are assessed by Hamilton DepressionRating Scale(HAMD)and the anxiety scores are assessed by Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA)before treatment. The experiment group is treated with St.John’s Wort Ext ract and oryzanol-riboflavin-Vitamin E,the control group is treated solely with oryzano l-riboflavin-Vitamin E.After 6 weeks,to assess the pain, depress and anxiety scores acc ording to VAS,HAMD and HAMA in the two groups of patients.Processing data by the SPSS19.0 professional statistical software package, compared two groups efficacy an d adverse reactions after treatment with different drugs.ResultAfter treatment,VAS、HAMD and HAMA scores of the two groups wer e lower than those before therapy(P<0.05).And compared to the same period, differen ce value of VAS,HAMD and HAMA before and aftertreatment of the experiment grou p were significant larger than the control group(P<0.05).There was a positive correlati on between difference value of VAS and difference value of HAMD、HAMA before a nd aftertreatment(P<0.01 for all). There are 2 cases cured,6 cases markedly effective,16 cases effective and 6 cases ineffective in the experiment group, the total effective rate is 80.00%;There are 0 case cured,0 case markedly effective,16 cases effective and 14 cases ineffective in the control group, the total effective rate is 53.33%,compar ison of efficacy has significant difference(x~2=4.125,P<0.05).During the treatment,th e adverse reactions of the experiment group were found in 1 case and the control gro up was found in 0 case. The rate of adverse reactions of the experiment group was 3.33%and the control groupwas 0%,comparison of adverse reactions has no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion1.St.John’s Wort Extract combined with oryzanol-riboflavin-Vitamin E can significantly reduce the pain sense, improve depression and anxiety of BMS patients.2.The efficacy of St.John’s Wort Extract combined with oryzanol-riboflavin-Vitami n E is superior to that of single oryzanol-riboflavin-Vitamin E group in treatment of Burning Mouth Syndrome.
