A Study On The Influence Of Marital Status And Marital Satisfaction On Residents’ Health Status

ObjectiveBased on the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)big data,this paper studies the residents’ health data.The purpose of this paper is to understand the relationship between health status and marital structure,marital life satisfaction.Based on the comparative analysis of the data of the national residents survey,the basic information of the health status of the residents under different marital status is obtained,and whether the satisfaction degree of marriage and life affects their own health.It is hoped to deepen the understanding of the relationship between marital status and health in order to provide an important reference for the study of residents’ health in the future.MethodsThis study is based on the China Family Panel Studies.The questionnaire was designed by Institute of Social Science Survey.In this study,the national survey data collected by CFPS in 2014 were extracted and analyzed,with a total of 37147 research samples.In this study,descriptive statistics,univariate and multivariate analysis were used to analyze and compare the health status of people with different marital status.Include health self-assessment,chronic illness,the last two weeks of physical discomfort,mental health and other problems.Secondly,the effects of marital satisfaction,spouse’s satisfaction,self-satisfaction and confidence level on health self-assessment were analyzed.ResultsMarital status has a certain impact on health self-assessment,the last two weeks of physical discomfort,divorce,widowed people’s health level is lower than unmarried,married,cohabiting people’s health level(P<0.05),The influence of marital status on the prevalence of chronic diseases was not significant(P>0.1).Age is the most important factor in the self-assessment of residents’ health,and the most closely related factor between physical discomfort and chronic diseases in the past two weeks,physical fitness declines with age(P<0.01).In the last two weeks,there were significant effects of gender factors on health self-assessment.The risk of health problems in males was higher than that in females(P<0.01).Urban and rural factors had an effect on health self-assessment.The health self-assessment and chronic disease status of urban population were better than that of rural population,and that of rural population was better than that of urban population in recent two weeks.(P<0.05).There were significant differences in mental health self-assessment among different marital status groups(P<0.01).Unmarried,married and cohabiting people were superior to those who divorced and widowed.There was significant difference between male and female on marital satisfaction(P<0.01),but there was no significant difference in marital well-being between male and female(P<0.1).The satisfaction of both male and female to their spouse’s economic contribution and household contribution is different(P<0.01),and the marital satisfaction of men is slightly higher than that of women.Marital satisfaction,marital happiness,and confidence in your future are factors that have an impact on self-assessment of health(P<0.05).The higher the degree of marital satisfaction,the better the self-assessment of health;the better the happiness of marriage,the better the self-assessment of health;the better the confidence in one’s future,the better the self-assessment of health.The other side’s economic contribution satisfaction,the other’s domestic contribution satisfaction,their own life satisfaction and their own life satisfaction had no significant effect on health self-assessment in multivariate analysis(P>0.05).ConclusionsMarital status,age,sex,urban and rural areas,marital satisfaction,marriage happiness,to their own level of confidence in the future has an impact on the health level of residents.Marital status is the influencing factor of residents’ health self-assessment and physical discomfort in the last two weeks.Marital satisfaction,marital happiness and confidence in the future are the influencing factors of self-assessment of residents’ health.There were differences in marital satisfaction among different gender groups,and male marriage satisfaction was slightly higher than that of female.
