The Clinical Studies Of Buccal Mucosa Bleeding-acupuncture Combined With Acupuncture For The Treatment Of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome

Objective:To observe the clinical effect and security of buccal mucosa bleeding-acupuncture combined with acupuncture on treating Ramsay Hunt syndrome.Comparing this therapy with conventional acupuncture to find out whether buccal mucosa bleeding-acupuncture works and how it works.As a result,this research will provide more ideas on treating Ramsay Hunt syndrome.Method:The 60 subjects we studied were from outpatients with Ramsay Hunt syndrome of acupuncture department,Nanjing hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.They met every standard we need.The subjects were randomly divided into 30 cases of buccal mucosa bleeding-acupuncture with acupuncture and 30 cases of conventional acupuncture.Every subject was treated once a day,5 days for a course of treatment,a total of 4 courses,and they were asked to have two days rest after every course.House-Brackmann facial nerve function grade and score scales were used as the observation index,which were evaluated before and after the treatments.Compare the general data(including sex,age,course of disease,etc.)and House-Brackmann facial nerve function grade and scores of the two groups before treatments to make sure the consistence of baseline.Compare House-Brackmann facial nerve function grade and scores after the treatments,to find out the differences of clinical effect between the two groups.The safety ratio of the two groups were also compared to evaluate the security of the two therapy.Results:1.There was no significant difference in general data and House-Brackmann facial nerve function grade and scores between the two groups before the treatments(P>0.05).The baseline was consistent and comparable.2.There were significant differences in House-Brackmann facial nerve function grade and scores between the two groups after the treatments(P<0.05);The effective rate of the two groups was both 93.33%,but the marked effective rate differs:43.33%of the treatment group,which is higher than 16.67%of the control group.3.Comparing every single House-Brackmann score before and after the treatments,there were significant differences in the clinical effect on improving nasolabial groove,skew of angulus oris,whistling and cheek blowing between the two groups(P<0.05).And it implies buccal mucosa bleeding-acupuncture combined with acupuncture shows significant clinical effect on improving the function of muscles around lip.4.The two groups were proved safe since both safety ratio were 100%.Conclusions:1.Buccal mucosa bleeding-acupuncture combined with acupuncture can improve the function of facial nerve,especially the function of muscles around lip.And it showed better clinical effect than conventional acupuncture.2.Buccal mucosa bleeding-acupuncture is a safe and effective therapy on the treatment of Ramsay Hunt syndrome.And it worth promoting.
