Objective:1.To evaluate the effectiveness of Jinkui Shenqi Pill on improving the fatigue of depression patients with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation.2.To investigate the positive effect of Jinkui Shenqi Pill on improving the serum levels of nerve growth factor(NGF).Methods:Sixty patients with kidney deficiency and liver stagnation,which met the depressive disorders criteria of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th edition(DSM-5)and rated scores of Hamilton DepressionScale(HAMD)(24 items)more than 20 scores and The Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14)more than 8 scores,were randomly divided into two groups:trial group of 30 cases and control group of 30 cases.The contral group were treated with escitalopram oxalate,starting dose of 10mg/d,2 weeks increased to 24mg/d,1 times a day,morning Daytonclothing.And the control group were treated with Jinkui Shenqi Pill(Zhipipian 6g,Guizhi 12g,Achyranthes 10g,Plantago 15g,Rehmannia 10g,Alisma orientals 10g,cornus 12g,Chinese yam and medicine 10g,Poria 30g,moutan 12g,a day a dose,morning and evening,each 200ml)combined escitalopram oxalate.The treatment course was 8 weeks.FS-14 and HAMD were used before and at the end of 2,4 and 8 weeks,and serum levels of NGF were measured before and after treatment,respectively.Results:1.Comparison of clinical efficacy between the two groupsIn the trail group,16 cases were significantly improved,30 cases were improved,10 cases were ineffective,and the total effective rate was 86.7%.In the control group,30 cases markedly improved 10 cases,8 cases improved,12 cases ineffective,the total effective rate was 60.0%.The effective rate of the trail group was better than that of the control group(x =5.455,P=0.019)2.Comparison of the FS-14 scale scores at baseline and after treatment in two groupsBefore treatment,there was no statistical significance in the FS-14 scale score between the trail group and the control group(P>0.05).After 2 weeks,4 weeks and 8 weeks treatment,the trail group was lower than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P=0.001,P=0.000,P=0.000,P<0.01).The FS-14 evaluation time(2 weeks and 4 weeks and 8 weeks)for group factors(i.e.,group study group and control group)was the between group factor,the repeated measures ANOVA showed that the evaluation time has significant main effect[F(2,58)=495.021,P=0.000)],two groups for 2 week and 4 weeks at the end of the weekend,8 FS-14 scores were lower than before treatment,interaction evaluation time and group significantly[F(2,58)=40.923,P=0.000],between group effect[F(2,58)=17.516,P=0.000],two groups of FS-14 score decreased with the increasing time,there were statistically significant differences between groups(P=0.001,P=0.000,P=0.000,P<0.01).3.Comparison of the HAMD scores at baseline and after treatment in two groupsBefore treatment,there was no statistical significance in the HAMD score between the trail group and the control group(P>0.05);After 2 weeks,4 weeks and 8 weeks treatment,the trail group was lower than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P=0.031,P=0.010,P=0.004,P<0.05 or P<0.01).The HAMD evaluation time(2 weeks and 4 weeks and 8 weeks)for group factors(i.e.,group study group and control group)was the between group factor,the repeated measures ANOVA showed that the evaluation time has significant main effect[F(2,58)=317.61,P=0.000],two groups for 2 week and 4 weeks at the end of the weekend,8 HAMD scores were lower than before treatment,the interaction time evaluation group significantly[F(2,58)=9.374,P=0.001],between group effect[F(2,58)=4.593,P=0.037],more than two groups of HAMD were decreased,and the difference between a group statistical significance(P=0.031,P=0.009,P=0.004,P<0.05 or P<0.01).4.Comparison of serum levels of NGF at baseline and after treatment in two groupsBefore treatment,there was no statistical significance in serum levels of NGF between the trail group and the control group(P>0.05);After treatment the serum levels of NGF was higher than that before treatment(P<0.05),and the trail group was more significant than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Jinkui Shenqi pill can significantly improve the fatigue of depression patients.2..Jinkui Shenqi pilll can increase the expression of NGF cells,promote axonal regeneration and repair of damaged cells. |
