| PurposeTo investigate the association between miR-27 a rs895819 and postoperative clinicopathological characteristics and outcomes of Chinese gastric cancer patients.Methods98 patients with stage Ib-III gastric cancer treated with D2 radical gastrectomy and adjuvant chemotherapy of oxaliplatin and fluorouracils were collected in Jiangxi Cancer Hospital..Peripheral blood samples(5 ml)was collected from each subject before treatment.Genotyping was conducted using the Sequenom method. The relationship between the rs895819 genetic variation and the clinicopathological features and survival of the patients was analyzed.ResultsmiRNA-27 a rs895819 polymorphism was not associated with postoperative clinicopathological features of gastric cancer. In recessive model, patients with AA+AG genotype had better overall three-year survival rate than GG genotype carriers genotype carriers,77.22 % and 33.33 % respectively. Results from multivariate analyses showed that lymph node status(P=0.014,OR= 6.940,95%CI 1.478-32.590)and rs895819 genetic variation(P=0.004,OR=0.111,95%CI 0.025-0.496)were independent prognostic factors of postoperative overall survival in gastric cancer patients.ConclusionsmiRNA-27 a rs895819 may be associated with postoperative prognosis, but not with clinicopathological characteristics of gastric cancer patients... |
