A Study Of Administrative Pathway Combining Preventive Screening And Clinic For Short Stature Children

Objective:The short stature is the most common endocrine disorder in Pediatrics.Three percent children suffer from this disease.However,only one from ten such children is under clinic care.So,we were to explore an administrative pathway combining preventive screening and clinic for short stature children,in order to further improve the efficiency in children’s short stature therapy.Methods:The present study used and analyzed data from a kindergarten and primary schoolon Datong as well as those from published data.Through the above kindergarten,the school’s preventive screening,the clinical diagnosis of small stool,treatment and nursing practice experience,combined with the advantages of prevention and health care work to explore the crowd screening measures,child care and clinical management program and ideas Proposed a screening treatment path.Results:Under a criterion from National Nine Cities Survey of physical development of children in 2005,our investigation indicated that prevalence of short statue is similar with that in other regions;in all clinic visitors for this reason,66% were diagnosed as short statue,27.2% were shorter statue,going to follow-up observation.Further we found only 29.3% short statue children were willing to take medication.Based on these results and published literature,we put forward a procedure for an administrative pathway combining preventive screening in kindergarten,primary school,children care clinic and pediatric diagnosis,treatment and nursing for short stature children..Conclusion:The establishment of a short stature of children with preventive screening and clinical treatment combined with the path management system has the clinical reality of the necessity and feasibility.
