The Development Of Parkinson’s Disease With Excessive Daytime Sleepiness

Parkinson’s disease is the common neurodegenerative disease,recently,more attention has been given to non-motor symptoms due to their impact on patients’ quality of life.Excessive daytime sleepiness is one of the most common sleep disorders in patients with Parkinson’s disease,it maybe an early diagnosis clue,as it can occur before the motor symptom for several years.The mechanisms under the symptom maybe neurodegeneration,circadian disorders,orexins,dopaminergic medications and other motor and non-motor symptoms.This paper reviews the clinical manifestation,pathogenesis,diagnosis and treatment of PD with excessive daytime sleepiness.
