The Relativity Between Self-perceptions Of Aging,health Behaviors And Housebound Older Adults

Objectives To discuss the infreluencing factors of housebound,self-perceptions of aging and health behaviors for elderly in the community,thus construct the structural equation model so as to clarify the relationship between them,thus,it can provide the basis for effectively improving the housebound of the elderly.Methods The method of cluster random sampling was used in this study.Firstly,the Renaissance zone was drawn from the three numbered districts of Handan city.Then 1 community from 65 communities was taken out randomly by using the above method.1455 eligible elder adults of Jianan community were surveyed by using housebound scale,health promoting lifestyle scale,aging perception scale,family care scale,geriatric depression scale,social support scale and general codition scale in October 2015 to April 2016.A face-to-face interview was conducted in the field of community health service center,the household survey has been taken for the elderly who can’t arrived at the scene,which ensure each of meet the requirements of the elderly can be investigated.All questionnaires were recovered on the spot after completed.All datas were analyzed by using SPSS22.0 and AMOS21.0 statistical software package,therefore,the paper adopts statistics methods including descriptive analysis,t-test,χ~2-test,variance analysis,pearson correlation analysis,multiple linear stepwise regression analysis,multi-factor unconditioned logistic regression analysis and structural equation model analysis.Results 1 The scores of negative dimensions of self-perceptions of aging(72.58%)are higher than those of positive dimension(61.20%)of the elderly,and the multiple linear regression analysis showed that the aging,abnormal body mass index,career choice,suffering from chronic diseases,using walk aid,poor self-appraised,often lonely and poor family care are main risk factors of self-perceptions of aging negative dimension for the elderly.2 The career choice,low monthly income,suffering from chronic diseases,longterm medication,using walk aid,poor self-appraised,often lonely,depressed,poor family care and less social support are influencing factors of poor health behaviors for the elderly.3 The incidence of elderly housebound in Handan community was 15.4%.4 Pearson correlation analysis showed that the positive dimension score,positive control dimension and health behaviors of the self-perceptions of aging are negatively correlated with housebound(r=-0.362~-0.468,P<0.05).However,the negative dimension score,periodic time dimension,emotional representation dimension are positively score correlated with housebound(r=0.315~0.388,P<0.05).Structural equation model shows that health behaviors has a directly negative effect on housebound(β=-0.177,P<0.05),the positive control dimension of self-perceptions of aging has a directly negative effect on housebound(β=-0.299,P<0.05),and negative dimension has a directly positive effect on housebound(β=0.772,P<0.05).Moreover,the health behaviors is also indirectly effect on housebound with the negative self-perceptions of aging as the intermediary variable(β=-0.336,P<0.05).Conclusions 1 The index score of negative dimensions of self-perceptions of aging for the elderly were higher.The negative self-perceptions of aging of the elderly was mainly influenced by the aging,abnormal body mass index,career choice,suffering from chronic diseases,using walk aid,poor self-appraised,often lonely and poor family care.2 The elderly with career choice,low monthly income,suffering from chronic diseases,longterm medication,using walk aid,poor self-appraised,often lonely,depressed,poor family care and less social support are poor health behaviors.3 The incidence of community elderly housebound was 15.4%.4 There is a positive correlation between self-perceptions of aging,health behaviors and housebound,health behaviors and positive self-perceptions of aging has negatively effect on housebound,and negative self-perceptions of aging has positively effect on housebound.Moreover,the health behaviors is also indirectly negative effect on housebound with the negative self-perceptions of aging as the intermediary variable.
