The Research On The Relationship Of Social Support,Coping Mode,Hope And Rumination In Burnt Patients

Objective:To investigate the current status of social support(objective support,subjective support,support utilization),hope,coping modes(confrontation,avoidance,acceptance-resigration)and rumination,as well as to explore their interaction relationship in burnt patient,and try to build a path between social support,coping modes,hope,rumination,analyses the mediating effect of social support,coping modes,hope.Demographic variances,burnt-related data were also collected to find their impact on social support,coping modes,hope and rumination.Methods:Social support was evaluated by Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),Coping Modes,hope and rumination were respectively estimated by Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ),Herth Hope Index(HHI),Chinese Event-related Rumination Inventory(C-EERI),other information was tapped by self-made questionnaire.Descriptive analysis,Kolmogorov-Smirnov Z Test,t-test,variance analysis,Pearson correlation analysis,unitary or multivariate linear regression analysis were performed in data analysis.The path between social support,coping modes,hope and rumination was verified by Amos.The data were analyzed with spss 19.0 software package.Results:1.The mean scores of intrusive rumination and deliberate rumination is respectively 15.29(SD=6.2 and 15.97(SD=5.28).39.71(SD=4.02)for social support,Objective support is 10.96(SD=2.73),subjective support is 21.88(SD=1.433),support utilization is 6.91(SD=1.09).Total coping modes mean score is 39.91(SD=5.46),17.82(SD=3.79)for confrontation,14.65(SD=2.77)for avoidance,7.44(SD=2.57)for acceptance resignation.The total hope mean score is 26.23(SD=5.60),8.26(SD=1.81)for “T”,9.56(SD=2.39)for “P”,8.41(SD=2.28)for “I”.2.Difference on rumination in sex(P<0.05),education(P<0.05),the main burnt area(P<0.01),the time span after burn(P<0.01),self-evaluated severity(P<0.01)of burn were statistically significant.The difference on social support in sex(P<0.05),age(P < 0.05),education background(P < 0.05),martial status(P < 0.05)were statistically significant.The difference on hope in education background(P<0.01),martial status(P<0.01),main burnt(P<0.05)were statistically significant.3.Very significant positive correlation were found between social support,coping modes,hope as well as deliberate rumination(P<0.05),Very significant positive correlation were found between social support and resignation,intrusive rumination(P<0.05).Hope is positively linked with deliberate rumination and confrontation,whereas,negatively linked with avoidance and resignation(P<0.01).4.Multiple regression analysis showed the social support,coping modes,hope had a statistical significance for rumination.5.Hope played a role of partial mediation between social support and deliberate rumination,the mediating effect made up 28.9% of total effect.confrontation played a role of partial mediation between social support and deliberate rumination,the mediating effect made up 29.1% of total effect.confrontation played a role of partial mediation between hope and deliberate rumination,the mediating effect made up 16.7% of total effect.Hope played a role of partial mediation between social support and confrontation,the mediating effect made up 25.0% of total effect.Hope played a role of partial mediation between social support and intrusive rumination,the mediating effect made up 18.1% of total effect.Resignation played a role of partial mediation between social support and intrusive rumination,the mediating effect made up 30.7% of total effect.Hope played a role of partial mediation between social support and resignation,the mediating effect made up 36.3% of total effect.Resignation played a role of partial mediation between hope and intrusive rumination,the mediating effect made up 15.5 of total effect.Conclusion:1.The level of social support was higher than ideal average,while hope level was relatively lower.The scores of coping modes and rumination were on the middle level.2.Demographic and burn-related variables had impact on social support,coping mode,hope and rumination.3.Social support,hope,confrontation,resignation were important predictors of burnt patients’ rumination.4.The type and level of rumination could be well predicted by social support,coping modes and hope.The rumination could be affected by social support directly or indirectly with mediation effect of hope,confrontation,resignation.
