| Patrinia scabiosaefolia Fisch is a perennial herb belongs to the family Valerianaceae.The dried root,rhizome or the whole plant is used as the material of"Baijian" in the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).Baijiang was first recorded in《Shen-Nong-Ben-Cao-Jing》and ranked in the second class herbal medicines.The nature of Baijiang is cold,tastes bitter and acrid,and attributes to the meridians of lung,large intestine and liver.Baijiang has the functions of heat-clearing and detoxification,blood stasis removing and pus expelling,promoting the blood circulation,and brain-sedativation,and mainly used for the treanment syndroms of pulmonary abscess,intestinal abscess,leukorrhagia,tormina postpartum after child-birth,dysentery.Moreover,Baijiang is currently reported to have the pharmacological activities of sedation,liver and gall benefit,anti-bacterial,anti-virus and anticancer,and it is clinincally used to therapy the diseases including neurasthenia,hepatitis,hepatocirrhosis,nasosinusitis,mumps,chronic pelvic infection and colonitis.P.scabiosaefolia is rich in various type chemical active constituents,including flavonoids,triterpenoids,coumarins,iridoids and steroids.Baijiang is a high valuable TCM with a long history,good medicinal use background and wide distribution in China.In order to the reasonable usage of this plant,this paper mainly focused on the study of the chemical constituents of the roots of P.scabiosaefolia.In the paper,The powdered dried the root of P.scabiosaefolia(15 kg)was soaked with 95%methanol at room temperature for 24h,and then extracted with methanol refluxed at 60 ℃(40 Lx4),combined the extract and removed the organic solvent under reduced pressure to get the methanol residue.The methanol residue was repeatly isolated and purified on different columns including sephadex LH-20,MCI,ODS,C18 and Silica gel to yield sixteen pure compounds.Among them,fourteen chemical structures of the isolated compounds were were finally determined by means of spectral techniques and physicochemical data documented in previous literatures.The identified compounds were listed as follows:oleanolic acid(1),3-oxooleanolic acid(2),a-hederin(3),hederagenin(4),β-sitosterol(5),(7S,8R)-3’,4,9’-trihydroxy-4-methoxy-9-O-shikkyl-acyl-7,8-dihydrobenzofuran-1’-propyl lignan(6),laricircsinol(7),luteolin(8),quercetin(9),rutin(10),kaempferol(11),caffeic acid(12)and ferulic acid(13),aesculetin(14).Of which,compound 6,7 and 13 were isolated from this species for the first time. |
