Clinical Observation Of Chize Point Acupuncture And Knee Functional Training On Knee Osteoarthritis

Objective:This study aims to observe the clinical effect of Chize Point(LU5)Acupuncture and knee functional training on knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Preliminary evaluate the clinical effect,feasibility and clinic advantage of this treatment.Methods:The study followed 60 patients who were clinical and imaging diagnosed with KOA received treatment from the orthopaedic outpatient clinic in Chinese Medicine Hospital Of Zhangzhou.Using random controlled method divided into treatment group and control group,each 30 patients.patients of treatment group were treated by Chize Point Acupuncture and knee functional training,7 days for a course,continuously 2 courses;Patients of control group were treated by Celecoxib,7 days for a course,continuously 2 courses.Observation items:The therapeutic effects were evaluated by Score of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)before and after treatment.Result:1.General information:Basic information of 60 cases in this study(gender,age,course of disease,Visual Analogue Scale,Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index etc.)from two group show no statistically significant differences(P>0.05).2.Score of VAS in two groups after first course show statistically significant differences(P<0.01),no statistically significant differences between two groups(P>0.05).After the second course show statistically significant differences(P<0.01),no statistically significant differences between two groups(P>0.05).3.To Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)of treatment group and control group,after first course show statistically significant differences(P<0.01),no statistically significant differences between two groups(P>0.05).After the second course show statistically significant differences(P<0.01),and show statistically significant differences between two groups(P<0.05).4.After the second course,total effective rate of treatment group was 93.3%;total effective rate of control group was 83.3%;there are statistically difference between tow group(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.To the KOA patients,both Chize Point acupuncture and knee functional training,and Celecoxib can release pain dramatically,while Chize Point acupuncture and knee functional training has better effects on improving movement disorder than celecoxib.2.As a modern therapy,Chize Point acupuncture and knee functional training is a effective method for KOA with mamy advantages such as quick effect,using less points,suffering little pain,easy to operate and so on.Provides a new choice in clinical treatment of KOA.
